AFAIK meron sign dyan na no right turn on red signal...natatandaan ko kasi na binubusinahan ako ng nasa likod ko noon...1 year ago na siguro...eh no right turn on red signal nga kaya hinayaan ko lang siya maghintay sa likuran ko...

    Idiot.

If you dont know the laws, you really shouldn't be allowed to drive. Unless there is a sign or oncoming traffic/pedestrians, you are clear to turn right on red.

    Take it easy, bro.

Don't expect every driver to know every law on the rule book. Remember ... you don't have to get it all correctly on the driving test, in both theory and practical, in order to pass and get a license. So having a license means you have the minimum requirements of the law to be allowed to drive.

    Peace.

sa us and canada, it is ok to turn right at a red light as long as it is safe to do so, so kung nabangga ka, automatic mali ka since it was not safe to do so.

Cars were allowed to turn right on red during the fuel crisis to save fuel (drive rather than idle while waiting for the light). They are still allowed to do so now unless there is a sign saying it is not allowed or you are in a city/municipality with an ordinance against it (damn these non-uniform traffic rules).

Maybe the Makati Mayor owns a gas station. hehehe.

sorry for bringing this thread up, but im a new driver and kahuhuli lang sa kin ng ganitong violation, im ready to follow na no right turn on every red signal. ang tanong ko lang, pag ako ba naman eh huminto sa red signal before right turn eh hindi naman kaya ako hulihin ng obstruction?

Basta when you argue with the enforcer, do not hand them your license. If they ask to show it to them just open and show it and keep a tight grip on it. Pag sinurender mo na ito wala ka ng leverage.

Simply put, if you are not familiar with the place, do not make a right when the signal is red. It won't take 2 to 3 mins. and the light will turn green already.
