Buti nga ang Maynilad magbabawas ng rates eh.

Ayala-led Manila Water, on the other hand, will be systematically increasing their rates until 2012.

You must have watched the misleading report by ABS-CBN. While it's true that Manila Water is increasing rates, but do you know that its rates are still lower than Maynilad's?

About the NLEX, the formula agreed upon for the toll rates is that they are adjusted every two years.

You may remember that the rates were last adjusted in Jan 07 (actually Dec 06). If the exchange rates remains this way, you can expect an adjustment in Jan 09.

hmmm...thanks for this..i didnt know that Maynilad's cheaper than Manila water in terms of rate.

and also nlex formula for price adjustment. two years is a long time...but i hope after two years, the formula is also computed by averaging the dollar to peso exchange rate for two years.

No, no. What creepy's trying to say is that Manila Water's rate is cheaper than Maynilad's.

Misleading report or not, it still means extra pesos to shell out. And it still does not bode well for our growing household, being a Manila Water subscriber.

    OT:

Like Lopez-owned Meralco,- "Lopez-owned/operated" Maynilad does not address their distribution loss and just burdens their customers by charging them with these loses.

(On the other hand, distribution loss was the first one that was effectively addressed by Manila Waters).

Also, Maynilad still has a troop of Foreign Consultants...... Whew!

I don't remember NLEX increasing their toll fee because of an appreciating dollar.

The fare only "increased" when it was deemed that it was not a VAT-exempt commodity/service.
