I was coming from SAV and was going tomake a left turn to that street along South Cemetery. Di pa ako nakakaumpisa lumiko, biglang may sumalubong na underboner sa may intersection mismo! So siempre, nagkandabohol-bohol yung traffic. In return, I got a "put*n* in* ka!" and a dirty finger. Haay, only in the Philippines?
2) I was approaching an intersection and slowing down dahil yellow na yung ilaw. In front of me was a 10 foot gap between me and the car in front. What happens? As I am slowing down, this scooter overtakes on my RIGHT side and proceeds to squeeze in between me and the car in front of me..while braking! Wow pards, thanks for leaving me 2 feet to avoid hitting your stupid a$$.
3) eto bonus kwento. Mga big bikers naman ito. Some friends of mine were cycling sa may laguna area. Sa isang rest stop, they come upon 2 big bikers in full armor...pero yung mga pokpoks na nakaangkas sa kanila, naka sando saka cap lang. Eventually, nauna na yung mg abig bikers. My friends leave after a few minutes...some kilometers down the road, they see a jeepney with one of the big bikes wedged under it.
99% of those I see are very unsafe. Singit ng singit, singit sa right side while I am making a right turn. Singit sa left side while I am making a left turn. They are a bunch of dumbasses. I'm sure there are a few riders who are responsible, but I have only seen a handful. There was one rider I saw last night who was very safe..di sumisingit, staying in HER lane, and hindi harurut. Take not, BABAE pa yung nakita ko. Looks like she knew what she was doing..unlike the some of the female and mostly male scooteristas/underboners i see on the road.

Hehehe. Sa Zambales National Highway, may nag-overtake sa amin na Harley Davidson-Hulk Hogan-lookalike-Caucasian rider with a Olongapo-picked-up girl as a backride. None of them are wearing a helmet except for the leather chaleco for the guy. Our speed when they overtook us was 100kph. They must be doing a 130-150kph.
The point is wala sa klase ng vehicle ang pagiging reckless. Nasa driver pa rin yan.

January 3rd, 2007 12:58 PM #46Parami na ng parami ang mga naka-motorsiklo and we should expect a lot more "near misses", accidents due to the undisciplined / discourteous drivers handling these bikes. Hindi ko po nilalahat and in fairness to those who have undergone trainings/seminars on safe motorcycle driving who are outnumbered by those who did not, meron pa rin matitino.
Defensive driving lagi tayo!

Kanina first time ako nakakita ng underbone na marunong mag interpret ng signal light hehehe.Nung nag signal ako pa left umovertake siya sa kanan, one way yung road and malapit ako sa bangketa sa kaliwa.kala ko nung una ipipilit pa nya, kakalat sana ang utak niya sa bangketa. May nabasa akong column before sa topgear by erle sebastian na title "those menace on 2 wheels" I actually agree with him kaso lang nag generalize siya, maybe hindi pa siya nakakakita ng disiplinadong naka motor. I dont blame him, sa araw araw ko sa daan you only see a disciplined rider probably 5% of the time.

I agree with you bratski. Erle Sebastian's article just did too much generalization. In my experience, however, from most underbone riders I see on a day-to-day basis, I rarely see a disciplined rider. (That's to add to the already many undisciplined private and public drivers on the road.) Every open space is apparently a signal for them to go ahead and barge their way through, not giving a rat's *$$ about the danger they are causing not only to the cars they're passing, but to themselves as well. But, hey, I do admit that there are disciplined riders (whether underbone or big bike), and it's unfortunate that these people get the blame for what irresponsible bike riders do.
