Katipunan U Turn MMDA Trap

On those who use of sirens in their car and you're not an emergency vehicle, plate number "1" and the like as mandated by our laws,... get a life. If you knew how to drive properly and reason out properly (meaning you know the basic road rules and courtesy), you wouldnt need those sirens to intimidate the Blue boys in the first place.

Threat to security as justification to need a siren? That's one lame excuse really. You're even making more enemies by just posting here and telling the world you're too inutile to drive and need a siren to survive Manila roads. If you are in real danger, blaring your wangwang will deflect bullets from you?

Just venting out. The issue on sirens is just really sickening. What's there to lose by driving to the next u-turn slot which is only a few hundred meters up the road which is the case in the Katipunan-Ateneo U-turn slot???

Agree i have a blue plate car that seldom gets huli by mmda but i never abuse it unless there is a real emergency.

Because swerving is not a traffic violation. Mr. Pagulayan of MMDA already cleared that out. Their only option is to close that slot (and of course this would result to an enraged Ateneo/Knoller driver mob yet again)

Ever wonder why several motorists are always in a huddle with MMDA authorities at the U turn section of Katipunan in front of Citibank Savings turning towards the South.

They just came from the Ateneo gate and swerved at the U turn which to MMDA is a traffic violation.

This is big business considering those who naturally would swerve to the convenient u turn even with the no swerving sign as they leave the campus.

Instead of catching their prey at the u turn, MMDA should be more preventive and lead the motorists towards the farther u turn slot to avoid the violation.

Be warned.

Hindi siya trap. tama lang naman na hulihin nila mga nag swerve from ateneo. its really swerving. why do they have to prevent those who swerve from ateneo when it is the responsibility of the motorists to follow driving rules and regulations? they don't have to be lead towards the farther u turn slot. they should know that it is their responsibility and duty to do so.

dapat lang talaga sila hulihin, sa school pa lang pinapakita na nila asal nila. dun sila mag-ut=-turn sa malayo para hindi makaabala.

sobrang kawawa na nga taumbayan kasi pagdating sa ateneo, naging 3-lanes tapos back to 5-lanes sa mirriam. eh wala tayo magagawa eh, ateneo yan eh. the same school na mas gusto pa buhayin yun mga puno na kasintada ata ni rizal sa katips. kaysa sa for the better good na tanggalin yun mga yun dun at mapaayos daluyin trapiko.

dun sa aurora, same problem. yun mga galing sa school na yan, nagpupumilit sa first u-turn to marikina eh puwede naman sana sa susunod para wala gano pressure. ewan parang greed to the max talaga.

I don't particularly like Ateneo even if I'm a student of the said school, particularly because it's filled with conyo rich kids who are too sheltered to have an idea how it is in the real world. I don't like the pampering one gets from this Utopian school (guards are everywhere to halt cars to let you cross, and the students aren't allowed to traverse the streets themselves).

With that said, I still think it's wrong to go Ateneo-bashing just because they swerve and take a U-turn at the slot near gate 3 and not the one in La Vista. It's not an Ateneo thing. If any other establishment was placed in that location, I would bet my life that there would still be drivers who would violate the no swerving law.

Lahat ng rules na yan may dahilan. Hindi lang yan nilagay diyan para lang i pamper ang mga tao dun. Halimbawa, ang rule na bawal mag traverse ng streets is for safety and security purposes. May incident na kasi dati na nadisgrasya sa katipunan. as for the guards helping the students cross, tama lang naman toh kasi pedestrian ang priority. don't tell me pampered ang mga tao sa kalsada pag tinutulungan sila tumawid ng mga traffic aids/mmda or mga taga traffic.

But i agree, its not an ateneo thing. marami lang talagang walang disiplinang driver. besides, ilan lang ba sa mga kotse na yun ang atenista ang nagmamaneho? di ata alam nung lasalistang makitid ang utak na GS, HS at College ang nandun. therefore, most of the vehicles that go out of that gate are not driven by Ateneans.
