samin kasi, we think before we shoot.
Responsible gun owners are responsible motorists too.. Di nga ba?

Ang alam ko sa mga ganyang sitwasyon, when you discharge your firearm, discharge to kill.

Kasi kapag sinabi mo sa korteng wala kang intention to kill, lalabas pang hindi ganun kalaki ang perceived danger mo sa iyong buhay and unwarranted ang pagpapaputok mo. Whether the perp dies or not is not relevant anymore. Basta nandun yung intention mo to inflict a fatal injury.

    Ayun lang po. Happy motoring.

Otep, are you suggesting that instead of firing that warning shot, I should have shot the person instead? Is that what you mean?

It would've been so tempting to just shoot them (or one of them) and then drive away since mga dregs of society naman mga iyan eh. That's why I salute the calmness and maturity of the TS. Hindi biro ang kumitil ng buhay ha.

At para sa mga sumaside comment diyan: What would you do if you were in the situation of the TS?

Nope. It merely suggest that should the need to discharge your firearm attacker ever comes, be committed to giving a fatal shot.

Or at least tell the court that a fatal shot was your intention. Otherwise, the judge might not find due cause in your decision to discharge your weapon.

I'd go with a warning (or missed) shot first, though. Same as what you did.

The problem with warning shots in the air is the bullet comes down. What happens if that bullets hits someone on it's way down? Now you may have injured or killed someone not even remotely aware of what is happening to you, in other words an innocent party. From personal experience I've had a bullet hole on my car hood because some idiot found it smart to fire their gun in the air for New Years. If that was my head it struck I would be dead.
It's the reason why LEO's or anyone for that matter should not give warning shots. You draw your weapon not to kill but to stop the threat and if that means they die then so be it. You aim for center mass to stop the threat nothing more nothing less. I don't know about the Philippines but that is what we are trained to do and that means being prepared to take a life to save my own. As the saying for LEO's here goes "It's better to judged by 12 than carried by 6."

Good job none the less for trying to help someone you thought to be in need. You probably still should have reported it though because if it was a real accident victim then you can still be blamed for it if they got your plates. The family can then change the story that you shot at them with your gun while they tried to help their relative.
