Kapag hinarang ka ng carjackers, I think you only have about 5 seconds to react. Kung mag-te-text ka pa, it might take about 15 seconds - medyo tinutukan ka na by that time.

Is this a figure of speech? Are you referring to your Fortuner sending the SMS?

In fairness, mukhang ayus din yang TxtAlert. You can even help the police locate the carjackers.

It's a good device... Kaya lang, don't put a txtalert sticker on your car. It would be best if the jackers are clueless.

However, if they know that such a device is available in the market, they might just ask you at gunpoint. Kaya, balewala rin... Better if cesar doesn't advertise their device. Ikalat na lang by word of mouth. Carjackers are sure to be lurking here in Tsikot.com.

Ok nga if a "panic" button is installed. Para a message is automatically sent to your wife (who should have the master phone) that you've been carjacked with your ride, along with your location. Naka-timbre na kagad yung carjackers without their knowing it. Kaya lang baka mapa-sama ka pa pag nagka shoot-out.

Well, that was an enlightening review/feedback from an owner of TxtAlert. I guess the bottomline here is the peace of mind that txtalert, or any anti-theft device, gives.

From what I know, "new textmate" refers to a (separate and different from the "Master" mobile phone) sim card (thereby also a different mobile phone number) that is attached to the TxtAlert device. The Master Phone is your mobile phone, while the TxtAlert device has its own sim card also. I think communication between vehicle owner or "master" and TxtAlert device is much like communication between two mobile phone users.

The idea of a panic button with the function of immediately alerting the police force is surely less than ideal especially in a likely situation when the thieves make you ride along with them for a while. If the police tries to intercept the thieves while you are still inside then we all know so well the sad culmination of events after the curtain closes.

Actually, not exactly the police, but your wife (or trusted relative). Yung wife mo, for example, siya ang tatawag or makikipag-coordinate sa police. I don't think the TxtAlert system is programmed to alert the police directly.

for those who can afford both insurance and this device, mas ok!

for instance, kung medyo bigatin ang na-carjackan or na-holdupan , they can send hitmen to track down the carjacked vehicle.

The above post answers your query, El Chicane. Your TxtAlert-equipped-vehicle prompts or sends a SMS to your master cellphone whenever a "door is opened", or "engine was started", or if you have the optional upgrade version: "shock was detected", or "battery was disconnected". Also, every time you prompt TxtAlert for a specific command, it gives a feedback also via SMS after your order is performed. On the other hand, every now and then or how often you want, and for verification purposes, you could check the "status" of your vehicle whether it is "armed/disarmed", or the "immobilizer is on/off", or a sensor was activated, by sending SMS to your vehicle, and your vehicle will reply via SMS.

I can just imagine... "after the curtain closes", mas malalim ito, hehe!

Yep, no "panic button", for whatever intention it may be.
