Noticed this rin nga recently. Mukhang wala o nawala/nasira kasi yung right turn traffic light sa far front. Usually hindi na kita nung nasa pinaka-unahan yung right turn traffic light na nasa kanan na niya, kasi wala na within view.

Yup, normally no right turn on red. Pero if you were pertaining to the same corner as ian_rex, meron kasing hiwalay na right turn traffic light dito. Nauunang mag "go" ito kaysa yung main traffic light (for those turning left to Ayala). If this was the same corner, baka hindi mo na makita yung traffic light na nasa kanan mo na (possibly out of your view), if you were the one in front.

Welcome rin nga pala to tsikot.

Longest I've honked is like 3 mins.
This was a long time ago. 2003 pa.
Was going to recto from quiapo (b4 Isetann). 1 lane lang yun street na yun, dahil sa baba may underpass.
There was PUV ahead of me. I'm turning right to recto. AMP!

"Toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo....//ooooooT!!!"

Shempre, naka pindot pa rin ako all the way until malampasan ko sya.

Come to think of it...More than 5 mins yun. Almost 10 siguro.

Hay!

*#!%* talaga

Sa kin naman, I always encounter PUV's which just swerve here and there, no signal of their intention. Cars who cut onto your lane.

But those are one of the many risks of driving in our country. The thing is, we know the risk is there, and the probability of the risk to occur is high based on experience. The problem with me sometimes, is I react only when the risk happens like PUV's cutting onto my lane even if I have right of way. Sometimes, I wait also for the risk to happen knowing I have mitigation plans in place such as the law(I can put the blame on the PUV if he bangs up my car bec I have right of way) and I have insurance to cover the cost. right of way ako kaya kasalanan nya. wala problema sa gastos kase may insurance naman. however that mind set and experience cost me alot in the past. the impact of the risk to my life and family is greater than the impact if avoided which is magagalit at iinit ulo mo pero eventually you'll cool down atleast nakaiwas ka sa aksidente. the impact of the risk occuring which is pag nabangga ka are long downtime due to repairs to the car, health(what if I/kids/wife get killed), insurance claims(hirap kumuha), low resale value ng kotse, road rage(guns), intangible items like yun trauma ng kids mo makikita ng anak mo yun galit mo etc. So instead of reactive risk mitigation, I do proactive risk mitigation - Plan my route and schedule, use an old car if going to a high risk area, avoid traffic congested and busy streets, check the weather, research the area of destination etc. on the road I honk my horn and flash my lights at PUV's, slowdown and prepare to step on the brakes, look at my mirrors and check the other lane for evasive action etc. defensive driving kung baga hehehe. there is really no sense waiting for the jeep to mess up your car and insisting you are right(even if law dictates it) if the impact is far greater than the impact if avoided and mitigated. no sense blaiming others if you had the opportunity and responsibility to take action ahead of time. walang kwenta kung sira yun kotse mo or worse patay ka na, kahit tama ka lalo na't pede mo naman iwasan.

I guess thats what we need to do, proactive risk mitigation. and for those risks which we have not identified or are unknown, we have car insurance di ba? and we get the comprehensive because we never know what will happen or worse case, kung di covered ng insurance take the experience as a learning and prepare a mitigation to lessen its occurence from happening twice. that is what makes us better than those foolish drivers who never learn and are always so narrow minded and think only of themselves - we think with our head(or heads hehehe 2 ulo natin) to prepare a plan... not to think with our (road) rage... or plan a revenge

One more thing, don't really know why. Usually, when u wanna overtake to the other lane, let say left lane. Usually, courtesy for other cars, especially the car behind you on your left, you turn on your left signal light. Then change lane and away you go.

    But here Noooo....
The car behind on you left is slow, and left a wide open space ahead of him. Once you SIGNAL that you're gonna shift lanes...BA! BIBILISAN NYA! FLASH! BUSINA! Tapus todo sya break. Taking into account na nag signal ka. Baket pa nya biblisan, tapus magagalit pa pag nauna ka. Hay!

So now what I do, When I see an opening...no more turn signals.

Raise ur hands!

    *Raised* sometimes.... HAHAHAAH!
    Pag Ogag sila...Ogag din ako.

Foolish drivers. Ano bang problema nyo?!
