    yup, bikers have this tendency to lane split everytime they see an opening.

    sobrang dangerous nito. ilan na ang muntikan ko nang mahagip dahil dito... yan rin ang reason ba't ayaw ko generally sa mga bikers...

    yung iba naman ok... and i treat them as if they are also passenger cars. pero very rare ito!!!

    Being both a 4 wheeled driver and a biker (just like Kcboy, smeagol), let me share my thoughts with you:

    There is. Try visiting www.motorcyclephilippines.com or the Motorcycle Advocates of the Philippines (of which I’m also a member) website at: http://www.motorcyclephilippines.com/MAP/index.html

    As for the newspaper writings, there is sometimes on the Motoring Section of the Philippine Star (every Wednesday) highlighting Motorcycles. Soon, there would be columns about Motorcycle Safety, Tips, Tricks, etc on Manila Standard.

    There are “big bike” groups and there are also “car clubs” who acts as what you’ve explained.

    Please don’t. Sometime’s bikers feel the same way to cagers (4 wheeled drivers), who intentionally or unintentionally cuts into their paths. There is too much animosity between cagers (that’s what bikers calls us) and bikers, so let’s just try to understand each other.

    Yup, you’re right on that “they should not share the same lane side by side with a vehicle”. Bikers and cagers should share the same lane at the front or at the back of each other.

    Scooter boy din ako pero sa village lang namin. Kinakabahan ako kapag nasa Highway na ako knowing na yung mga kapatid nating jeepney drivers na sa pasahero lang nakatingin.

    I know someone para makalusot sa NLT yung 250cc niya. Ang ginawa niya bumili siya ng 500cc na sticker or emblem tapos kinabit niya. Ayun pasado sa NLT.

    kwento ko nga sa taxi driver dati, ung pinaka nakakatakot sa daan is not SUVs, trucks, or buses...it's the bikes that i worry most about B). cugro 7 out of 10 times, mabangga mo ung car/truck/bus, oto lang masisira...there's a greater chance of both parties walking out of it alive...you gotta admit the chances are a lot slimmer pag motorbikes ang involved

    Statistics would tell you na mas marami ang namamatay sa car accidents vs. motorcycle accidents.

    I'll tell you why, pero lunch muna ko. Mamya na lang.

    Ayan tapos nako kumain...

    Djerms,

    actually, simple lang yung logic nung nag-compute.

    Isang kotse, with 5 occupants, na bumibiyahe sa SLEX ng 80kph ang biglang nag-swerve sa kanan (shoulder lane), kasi yung isang bus sa harap nya biglang nag-brake. Yung kotse lumusot sa ilalim ng isang truck na nasiraan at nasa gilid ng shoulder.
    Result = 5 dead.

    Isang motorsiklo, with 2 occupants, na bumibiyahe sa SLEX ng 80kph ang biglang nag-swerve sa kanan (shoulder lane), kasi yung isang bus sa harap nya biglang nag-brake. Yung motorsiklo lumusot sa ilalim ng isang truck na nasiraan at nasa gilid ng shoulder.
    Result = 2 dead.

    So, ayon sa computation:
    1 car accident = 5 dead
    1 motorcycle accident = 2 dead

    This means, you are 2.5 times more likely to get killed while riding a car rather than a motorcycle.

    Di pa kasama sa computation yung isang jeep, with 17 occupants, na bumibiyahe sa SLEX ng 80kph ang biglang nag-swerve sa kanan......

    teka, tama ba yung computation?
