May 30th, 2011 10:46 AM #1516And the more stupid drivers get, sooner or later you will have to have an LED sign that says "Car is Backing Up!"
I know there are rules when to turn on your flasher (hazard lights) but if we ignore these rules as well, kanya kanyang interpretation na lang din ang mangyayari.
Stupid drivers - mas madami niyan ngayon... add the many stupid motorcycle riders na ngayon lang nagkalisensya (na dinaan sa lagay)...
In addition to people who park stupidly... it is part of our highway code that cars should not park in front of residential or commercial gates... There should be no need for signs that say "No Parking on Driveway, or Do Not Block the Driveway" because those are the rules... just like bawal pumatay, you don't need a sign hanging around your neck that says "Don't Kill Me." But because people ignore these rules, we end up putting signs on our gates and driveways.

The hazard light actually was made to warn oncoming or passing traffic of a potential or possible danger.
Ako, I don't turn on my hazard lights pag nagbaback-up lang.
Look at it from a passing vehicle's point of view:
A perpendicularly-parked car on my right has his backing light turned on so I stop to give him room. Then he turns on his hazard light.
"Naku, nasiraan pa sya." Thinking he has car trouble since he's flashing his hazard lights so I try to drive away, only to find out he's still backing up and hits my right side!
This function is meant to indicate a hazard such as a vehicle stopped in or near moving traffic, a disabled vehicle, a vehicle moving substantially slower than the flow of traffic such as a truck climbing a steep grade, or the presence of stopped or slow traffic ahead on a high speed road. Sometimes, they are used in severe fog conditions
