I just heard nebrija a few minutes ago and those edsa bus barriers aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

July 28th, 2020 08:51 PM #3392Galing the way the Fort hit the barrier. It's almost exactly like a smalll-overlap crash test, which Asian and Latin NCAP doesn't seem to test.

Mabilis takbo nila?

July 28th, 2020 11:21 PM #3394it's a combination of:
1. narrow lane made narrower by fat, concrete divider;
2. divider not very visible, even in the best of lighting;
3. fat motor vehicle (bus!); and
4. speed. in the one or two videos i saw, the vehicle seemed to be traveling at speed. but hey! this is EDSA! they're not supposed to be crawling...
i guess the mmda folks are not permitted to publicly admit, that them concrete dividers are roadway hazards.

MMDA to replace concrete barriers on EDSA with bollards —GM Garcia

Interviewed on Dobol B sa News TV on Wednesday, MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said that the replacements will be sponsored by the private sector.
“In the next few weeks po, lalagyan po natin 'yan yung bollards na mas manipis po 'yun,” he said.
However, Garcia noted that concrete barriers will remain at loading and unloading areas for commuters' safety.
“’Yun pong ating loading and unloading base—200 meters before, 1000 meters after—lalagyan rin natin ng concrete barriers ‘yan na dikit-dikit,” he added.

I wonder if they have used the original bus lane (outer lane of edsa) and put those barriers there, what could've been the outcome?

If drivers follow the rules there will be no barriers and there will be no accident due to barriers...

I just avoid yung lane beside the barriers.
