Kanina while traffic (as usuall), nakikinig ako ng AM and na interview si Bayani. Ang sabi no Bayani na may international standards daw sila na sinusuod. Before the barriers ay may solid line imbes na broken white lines. Dahil sa soild line ito, bawal lumipat ng lane.

27 barriers daw ang itatayo nila sa EDSA and di lang daw sa EDSA gagawain ito.

Sa mga daan na may dumadaan na mga bus, ay lalagyan daw nila.

Kaya daw sila naglalagay nito dahil daw sa mga bus drivers. pada duon lang sila sa lane nila. Bawal ba sa mga bus na lumabas ng yellow lane?

So they admit they can't really control the bus drivers and have to resort to physical barriers to do so? What's next, spike strips along the yellow solid lines?

They should also amend traffic guidelines to cater to barriers posted since they've drastically changed the way motorists drive. If there is no standard to adhere to, MMDA goons will take advantage of that and motorists will keep plowing into these barriers so we're all left to ourselves and/or each other to drive safely.

Nuon una kong na encounter ang mga barriers na ito, may nakasulat na warning: barriers ahead. kaso ang warning sign na ito ay nasa taas na mismo ng barrier! Napaka galing!

Di ko ma imagine na walang bus na bigla-biglang kakabig mula yellow lane pa kaliwa at kumakain ng 2 to 3 lanes outside ng yellow lane.

dito lang sa Guadalupe.. hanggang yung last 2 lefttmost lanes kinakain nang mga bus na yan.. tapos ni walang ka abi abiso bigla na lang kakaliwa yun.. bahala ka na lang umiwas.. kaya nagkakaron nang gridloc dyan sa Guadalupe..

just think of it this way: it is mmda's way of thanking the motoring public through road surprises---you will never know what you are gonna get!

just think of it as an obstacle in a racing circuit designed to test your nerve and skill as a driver---that is, if you have one. you get minus points if ever you hit one. but if you are stupid enough to hit one solidly---you get a much serious deduction---minus your life

also, watch out for those nasty potholes in edsa . it also has minimal or no warning signs and sometimes if you are lucky it is covered. you also get a minus for that---that is, minus your tire if ever you fall into one. luckily, but then ive heard you get a full refund for the damage incurred for that, again, courtesy of mmda--- just go to the nearest mmda office

Jersey barriers aren't inherently bad, but the way the MMDA implemented them was missing a crucial feature: The individual concrete blocks are supposed to be connected to each other.

Look at the many examples of EDSA concrete barrier accidents and the common recipe is that after hitting or sliding into the first concrete block, it gets thrown into the adjacent lane and the mishap vehicle continues having a head-on accident with the edge of the next block.

Connecting the blocks together prevents that. When the blocks are connected the line of jersey barriers acts as a single long unit, instead of individual blocks. It becomes a lot less likely to throw a single block into adjacent traffic like a pinball, and the mishap vehicle does not have a head-on accident unless he happens to hit the very first in a line of blocks.
