    Lol.. Sir hindi nag uubos ng gas yun kaya sila umiikot ikot. Nag aantay yun sa Air traffic controller (tower) kung puwede na sila mag land. Hindi naman pag dating ng aeroplano eh maglaland agad. FYI lang po.

    The maintenance of the planes is not with the airline companies. At least locally. Its with service providers like Lufthansa Teknik. So my friend answered my question based on the service provider's SOP.

    My friend is now working with Emirates in middle east. Baka magkakilala friends natin. CebuPac lang ba hindi inuubos yung gas? Or other airlines too?

    i know na naghihintay sila clearance for landing pero ganun ginagawa nila for the gas scenario. that's according to him and i repeat i trust my friend's advice. i'm not discouraging anyone to take cebu pac, go take their full or promo piso fares if one wanta to. that's everyone's freedom of choice.

    sa mga nasa hangar nila some but not all of cebu pac planes ay ginagawa yun. di nila handle cebu pac dahil rent sa spacr lang mga eroplano ng cebu pac sa kanila at ibang mga mekaniko gumagawa.may bantay na mga bisor daw ng cebu pac na nagmamando kung anu-ano or ano lang ang gusto nila gawin sa plane. cebu pac at zest air lang ba ang mga nagpipiso fare? or kung meron man iba pang international airlines na nagooffer ng ganun?

    ^hmm.. That one hindi ko na alam. Ang alam ko lang sa piso fare is a marketing activity para mapuno yung flight. May mga fixed costs na kasi yung flight, so mas maganda kung mapuno yung flight para mabawasan yung shoulder ng airline na cost. yung mga taxes, etc.

    Lufthansa Technik Philippines is partnered with PAL's Majority shareholder Lucio Tan... Cebu Pacific's maintenance is handled by SIA Engineering in Clark. Obviously competitors.

    Philippines carrier Cebu Pacific is starting construction of a new heavy maintenance hangar at Clark International Airport (also known as Diosdado Macapagal International Airport). The facility, which is a joint venture with SIA Engineering (SIAEC), is due to open later this year, according to Garry Kingshott, advisor to the airline’s chief executive, who spoke with AIN at the Low Cost Airlines Asia conference here in Singapore last week.

    The joint venture, known as SIA Engineering (Philippines), is 65 percent owned by SIAEC, with Cebu Pacific controlling the rest. The present narrowbody hangar accommodates single-aisle aircraft with capabilities including scheduled heavy maintenance checks, airframe structural inspections, repairs, modifications, paint-stripping, painting of aircraft exteriors and nondestructive testing checks.

    “Engineering and maintenance are the second largest costs after fuel, and need to be managed,” said Kingshott. SIA Engineering (Philippines) plans to build three hangars that will span 290,000 sq ft when completed.

    With space at Singapore’s Changi International Airport at a premium, the facility***–which is located within 15 minutes’ flight time of Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport and within four flight hours of major north Asian markets such as China, Korea, Japan and Hong Kong–is expected to offer a lower-cost maintenance alternative for airlines. Current clients include Mandala Airlines, Tiger Air and AirPhil.

    Some Cebu Pacific's planes are in LTP hangar, but not always. Madalas pag may kailangan ayusin dun lang napunta ng hangar yan.
