bitayin na yang bakla. napakababa naman ng standard ng airline company na ito to get a steward. sabagay, kelangan ng cebu pac ng matitigas ang mukha, lalo na kapag delayed flight mo, dedma lang sila.

Thieves, mostly Chinese, strike mid-air | Inquirer Global Nation

SINGAPORE–Sleeping on an airplane with carry-on bags stowed safely overhead is common among travellers, but it has come with a certain risk over the past four years

There have been 16 reported cases of theft on board aircraft last year, with only seven cases resulting in arrests.

In 2013, there were 57 reported cases of theft on board aircraft compared to 43 in 2012. It was in early 2012 that airport police noticed the trend of inflight theft.

A majority of culprits have been from China. Court papers have given a glimpse into how the criminals work, usually striking while the victim is sleeping.
This can be a new twist to this story. CP plane was headed China.

CebuPac grounds flight crew over theft case
Philippine StarBy By Louella Desiderio | Philippine Star – Sat, Aug 15, 2015

Budget carrier Cebu Pacific has grounded the cabin crew of one of its aircraft following allegations of theft while on a flight from Boracay to China on Tuesday.

“As part of standard procedure, cabin crew members of the flight will be placed on paid leave and a non-flying status pending completion of the investigation,” its statement read.

Paterno Mantaring Jr., Cebu Pacific officer-in-charge for corporate affairs, said the airline launched its own investigation with an independent, third-party security group after it was informed that one of its flight attendants was accused of stealing cash from passengers.

A male flight attendant of Cebu Pacific reportedly took 8,000 RMB (P58,000) from three Chinese passengers, who allegedly left their money in bags placed in the luggage compartments above seat numbers 11, 12 and 13.

The attendant reportedly flushed the money down the toilet and threw some in the trash bin. Authorities were able to recover about P19,000.

Eric Apolonio, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) spokesperson, said in a telephone interview that the agency would only make recommendations after it receives a report on the incident.

“We are waiting for Cebu Pacific’s report,” he said.

If there is a basis, CAAP can recommend the cancellation of the flight attendant’s license.

Tourism undersecretary Benito Bengzon Jr. said it would be “best to wait for the result of the investigation.”

in-flight theft is a big gamble... pag nagka-initan, san mo itatago ang ebidensiya? even toilet by-products can be inspected..
btw, pano nalaman na may nakawang nangyari?

but i am curious... what does lowering cabin lights have to do with landing?

Better visibility of the outside condition. Especially when it's already dark (like night flights). People onboard must be able to see immediately the outside condition during the critical phases of the flight which are the takeoff/landing phase. So when emergency arises and evacuation is needed, people can evacuate immediately depending on their assessment of the outside condition.
