Good thing narecover sasakyan nyo sir! Thanks to that tracking device na nakainstall sa car nyo! Without it... tapos ang kotse nyo!

At least may example na tayo kung paano nila tinatrabaho yung car after it was stolen.

QC cops nab 3 carjack gang members

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested three members of a carjack gang and recovered several allegedly stolen vehicles during a raid yesterday on the gang’s Filinvest Subdivision safehouse.

QCPD director Senior Superintendent Magtanggol Gatdula said three of the suspected brains – Gilbert Sablan, Leonardo Tablante and Christine Tablante – are now undergoing custodial investigation.

The police recovered a Mitsubishi Pajero, a Chrysler van, a Volkswagen car, a Toyota Hilux pickup, another Mitsubishi van and one Toyota Lite Ace.

Gatdula said the suspects were caught replacing the original license plate of a Mitsubishi Pajero that was carjacked Tuesday evening in the University of the Philippines (UP) campus in Quezon City.

Police also recovered several assorted hub cabs, tires, car spare parts and registered stickers and the official receipt of registration of the stolen Pajero at the gang’s safehouse.

“These (suspects) are the brains of a major carnapping gang (operating) in Quezon City in the last two years,” Gatdula said.

The police had launched a manhunt for another suspect, Rico Tablante.

The suspects’ lawyers prevented the police from presenting them to the media.

Their arrest came after they allegedly stole a Pajero owned by Atoy Laynes, parked inside the UP campus. Unknown to them, Laynes’ vehicle bore an electronic device that sent signals to its owner when it was towed away from the parking area.

Laynes, a nephew of a ranking police official in Camp Crame sought help from the Batasan Hills police precinct.

Precinct commander Superintendent Constante Agpaoa reported that policemen caught Gilbert Sablan replacing the plates of the stolen vehicle.

Initially, Sablan denied the car was stolen and even called a lawyer to prevent the police from impounding the vehicle.

The lawyer, however, backed out after Laynes, using the original key, was able to start the engine of the vehicle.

When the police search the compound, they found other suspected stolen vehicles inside.

Gatdula said they have already received intelligence report about the group’s operations. The group, originally based in Pampanga, allegedly set up a car exchange center and restaurant as a front for their illegal activities.

He said the group allegedly financed carjacking activities in various parts of Metro Manila.

“We will file the necessary charges against the suspects,” Gatdula said.
    Rico Tablante magtago ka na!!:nolurk:

Sana gawin nilang affordable yang mga GPS tracking device na yan para makapag pakabit ang karamihan ng car-owners. Malaking deterrent yan to carnappers.

Yes, meron namang mura at effective na GSM/GPS na car alarm at walang subscription so u don't need to pay a monthly expense on it except dun la load ng GSM. Kailangan na talagang maglagay ng ganitong device lahat halos ng sasakyan esp walang pinipili ang mga carnappers/carjackers esp here in MMla. Like what we are selling now na version 2 na ng TxtAlert, dati GSM lang gamit namin and we rely on Telco's triangulation method (Friend locator). Now it has GPS na kaya mas reliable. Dami na kaming nainstallan esp mga Fortuners, Pajeros etc. If anyone is interested about it, just PM me or email me at txtalert*gmail.com and i will be glad to answer all your querries about its features and price.
