I also think that the countdown timer type ang the best. Kasi malayo ka pa lang matatantiya mo na kung aabot ka pa ba sa time. Ang hirap kasi dito satin iba-iba ang tagal ng pag-ilaw ng yellow light. It varies from 1 second to five seconds.

Actually the reason why I miss (my favorite) traffic light (and timer) in front of the Aristocrat along Roxas Blvd.....

Mukhang ito ang dapat nilang gawing standard accessory ng traffic lights dito sa atin....

as long as di ka inabutan ng yellow papasok sa intersection wala dapat ipaliwanag sa manghuhuli. now may ibang instances na bantay sarado ang intersection, may naka poste na enforcer/s at pinatitigil na kahit GO because of congestion at the middle. dun tayo wag papasok dahil may warning na sila - sigurado yari tayo dun.

thanks sir, pero yun nga po naging problem ko before, yung mga MMDA officers eh ngkkwentuhan tpos when the lights turns RED bigla sila nagtatakbuhan para i-apprehend ang lahat ng nasa loob ng intersection. Hindi sila nag-aasist like what you've said na kahit Green light pa eh papahintuin na. Dapat nila minomonitor kung dapat na nila pa-stopin ang flow of traffic dahil sila may kabisado kung kelan malapit na mag-yellow yung traffic light.

Traffic police at Buendia and Ortigas crossing EDSA are notorious for those "violations". That's why I hate it when I'm at the end of the line and the light turns green 'coz I might get bitin when crossing. hehe.

The proper way to cross an intersection if your lane traffic is very slow moving or stop and go or not moving at all is to keep the intersection open (even if your traffic light is still green),- do not block the intersection.

Most of the times, it is not applicable here dahil sa mga buwaya sa daan na kukunin ang puwesto mo at iba-block din lang ang intersection,- kaya napipilitan ang mga matitinong drivers na gayon na rin ang gawin.....Very slow moving/slow moving is quite subjective. Anyway, you said it was not stop and go, so I guess you did that properly.

nicely put, cvt. . .this should be the common practice. . .by not getting caught in the intersection when the light turns green, you not only not block the way of the vehicles coming from left or right, but you also eliminate the chance of being issued a violation ticket by those vultures on watch. . .kung me buwaya na pupuwesto and block the intersection anyway, i don't mind. . .i just pray a bus comes rushing and drag his ass at least 50 m

ako nangyari na sa akin, sa gitna ako inabutan ng yellow at 20kph, sa gitna ng intersection ha, hinuli pa din ako ng isang enterprising traffic cop, nagpaticket na lang ako, ayaw niya tanggapin paliwanag ko eh, pinaparinggan pako 700 daw tubos, eh 150 lang naman yun.

pag stop and go, I usually stop bago mag intersection then wait till i'm sure na pag umandar ako eh makakalusot ako sa intersection. ung hindi ako maiipit sa gitna dahil sa traffic.

pero wala ngang huli un pag don ka na inabutan ng red sa gitna.

gboy2008: yung mga ganung isidente ang magandang ipaglaban. Just talk in a nice way and never submit your license or else magiging useless lahat ng paliwanag mo kahit 100% silang mali. Also namimili rin mga yan kung sa tingin nila ay madaling ma duro.

speed_pjay: same diskarte, ibalik mo sa kanila mga accusations nila, don’t get intimidated. Let them know na alam mo traffic lights rules and regulation lulubayan ka ng mga yan.

always keep the intersection open (yellow box). kung hulihin ka man, hindi beating the red light yun kasi hindi mo naman hinabol. pwedeng obstruction to the flow of traffic or simpleng obstruction.

usually di ko na rin tinutuloy pag alam kong maiipit lang ako sa gitna pag nag-go na yung sa kaliwa at kanan. nakakahiya yung may nakatutuok sa bintana mong ilaw at panay busina.

pero mahirap nga kung sobrang laki ng tatawirin mo. hirap tantyahin. pero kung may bumusina sayo sa likod dahil huminto ka, stand your ground. kung mabangga ka, sila ba babayad? kung mahuli ka, sila ba tutubos ng lisensya mo? kung makaabala ka, sila ba magsosorry? hindi. better do what's right na lang than pay for the consequences caused by others.
