October 27th, 2004 11:16 AM #21Ako din, dapat ba talaga 95 Ron (Velocity, Blaze, XCS, Vortex Gold, etc.) ang ikakarga ko sa kotse?
I have Nissan GX 2004.

Do those octane booster fuel additives work ? Or are they just snake oil like those oil additives ?

sir yebo if thats the case... anu difference ngayon ng SHELL SUPER PREMIUM and SHELL Unleaded? they are both 93 RON... why mas expensive ang super premium
and ang petron XCS and Petron UNLEADED din i think is the same... hehe anu difference sa additives nila?
all the while i thought mga leaded gasoline pa ang XCS and super premium to cater to those older vehicles hehe kahit na alam kong pinagbabawal na peace..
sir chieffy sorry sa OT
no problem...marketing scheme perhaps?
ipakarga nyo lang lang yung mas murang variant with the same RON...unleaded naman lahat iyan...sa probinsya na lang meron pang mga regular gasoline....

October 27th, 2004 01:54 PM #24If the manual says 95, then i'll use 95
for the rest, siguro feel nyo engine nyo, especially under loaded condtions,,,,, if you detect signs of "pre-ignition ot "ping" (takatakatak..)...then shift to higher octane fuel...
if there's no pinging, then try a lower octane fuel...if it runs ok, even under load, then save your money and use that particular grade ...or go to lower octane until it shows pinging ...then go back to the higher grade. Now you would have identified the right octane for your engine......
my humble contribution po ....

use the lowest octane rating your car can run without pinging.. technically.. walang benefits in running a 98RON on an econocar....you're just burning a hole on your wallet.

sir chieffy, baka nga meron halo yung gasolina nila.. or baka talagang tsamba at meron problem sa engine parts..
sa 2.0 gas revo gsx, RON91 ang minimum based sa revo manual, petron unleaded lang lagi lagay ko and okay naman performance at walang tope or knocking sound, pero meron ako napansin, everytime na I step hard on the gas pedal at 3rd gear to reach 4000rpm (max 4800rpm) dahil overtaking, meron instance na parang kinakapos ng hangin for half a second lang or parang pumalya/jerk ng half a second but no decrease on speed.. ni-check ng casa ang timing and oks naman,
so i switched to petron XCS (ron95) and never encountered the half a second jerk.. don't know kung bakit ganon makina ng revo 2.0 ... also, i'm not saying na good fuel ang xcs.. haven't tried caltex gold or shell blaze..

hehe O/T
diba yung petrol/diesel reserve natin ehh good for almost 90days ata bat twing tataas yung world market after a day or a week taasan din yung oil company satin...Hmmm
negosyante talaga!

"Possible kaya na nilalagyan ng mix used oil yung petrol natin "
This is interesting.....you can do a simple test to check it..... place a few drops of gasoline on a glass plate and allow it to evaporate.........if oil is present , it will be left behind on the glass.......then it's time to complain...
Choice I would have made as well.
