Ayala Alabang road rage: Frustrated murder raps set vs ‘Josons of Ecija’ | Motioncars

TWO BROTHERS who claimed to be members of the politically influential Joson clan of Nueva Ecija province are facing criminal charges for allegedly mauling a man in a road rage incident inside Ayala Alabang Village, Muntinlupa City, Thursday night.

Senior Supt. Alan Nobleza, officer in charge of the Muntinlupa police, said siblings Christian and Angelo Joson face charges of frustrated murder and serious physical injuries for what they did to Karlo Alfonso Santiago, 26.

The siblings remained at large while Santiago was still confined in the Asian Hospital and Medical Center as of September 20. They are all residents of the upscale subdivision, Nobleza said.

According to an account given to the police by Santiago’s father, Alfonso, the incident happened around 9 p.m. on Friday.

Santiago, Alfonso and the latter’s 3-year-old grandson were in a golf cart on their way out of the subdivision when a white Toyota Prado (XLU-831) got in their path.

The two men in the Prado—the Joson siblings—began berating the Santiagos for supposedly blocking their way. The suspects then got off their vehicle and one of them angrily told the elder Santiago: “Ang angas mo ah! May sinasabi ka? (You’re so arrogant! Are you trying to say something?)”

Karlo tried to intervene but ended up earning the brothers’ wrath. The Josons allegedly took turns beating him up until he almost lost consciousness.

Before fleeing, one of the brothers was heard saying: “You probably don’t know that we’re the Josons of Nueva Ecija!”

Santiago suffered mostly facial injuries, Nobleza added. Some media reports on Saturday erroneously described the victim as the boyfriend of Wynwyn Marquez, daughter of actress Alma Moreno and comedian Joey Marquez.

Nobleza said the suspects may also be charged with violation of the law against child abuse since there was a toddler present during the incident and that he was “traumatized.”

The criminal complaints are expected to be filed by the Santiagos on Monday, he said. -Kristine Felisse Mangunay, with a report from Liza Soriano, Inquirer Bandera
