As the commercial goes 'Walang ganyan sa states!'

Dito lang talaga tayo makakakita ng mga abusive cop escorts na yan.

Why can't they be more like these escorts..

I heard this from a radio commentator regarding the bodyguards who beat a chinese businessman. It's so annoying when they are on the streets thinking that they are gods but in reality, they couldn't even afford to buy those kinds of vehicles that they are driving. Like when the presidential convoy passed by me along EDSA. I was so far from them but this one patrol tried to make their presence felt and almost tried to hit me. I was like "What the f*ck are you doing!?! I am so far from you!" Oh well, that's just one of my so many encounters with convoys. By the way, look at what happened to driver of the truck of the presidential convoy when they where in, if my mind serves me correctly, Nueva Ecija. He hit a tricycle, I think, and a person died. He looked very meek when he was in those handcuffs in the police station. I wonder if he was also like that when he was in the convoy...
with presidential convoys, i thinks we have to respect them like the national anthem. sa tingin ko naman even US motorists cannot argue na "hey, i'm paying my taxes" and use it as an excuse to battle it out with the Secret Service. imho, that's plain stupid.

Yup, I know. That happened when I was about to enter the mouth of Ayala underpass, about 50 meters, when I heard their convoy. So I went to the right lane, the one near the yellow line, and slowed down just to give way to them. But when the presidential car passed, there were 4 Nissan Patrols surrounding it and the one on the right tried to hit me. I know that everyone who tries to match their speed or follow them would be considered a threat so by all means, they would do anything to protect the president. But I was already there, I even reduced my speed just to give way, and they tried to hit me!?! You know those sudden swerves enough to give you that sudden surge of blood pressure since a vehicle almost hits you. That's so unreasonable.

I think when the US presidential convoy moves, all the intersection will be blocked and all cars are required to stop. I saw a documentary about US Secret Service in National Geographic and every time I see the presidential car on public roads in that documentary, I didn't see any other cars.

In the US the route being taken is determined before hand and closed to all traffic. Throughout the route of the convoy you will have snipers on top of buildings to secure the area.

Just because you moved aside and slowed down does not lessen your ability to be a threat to the President. The PSG may have viewed you as a threat because if you had explosives in your car you could detonate it when the Presidents car gets near your car. Forcing you away by placing their vehicle between you and the President's car is one way of protecting the President by using the vehicle as a shield.

I know not all convoys in the Philippines are legitimate but a Presidential convoy has it's reasons for acting the way they do. Some may not make sense to the average driver but to the people conducting the escort there is a reason for such action. To you it may be unreasonable but until you've trained to do VIP protection you won't understand the purpose. After all nobody in the PSG want's the President to be hurt during their watch.
