PDEA vindicated over 'Alabang Boys' case

Filed Under: Illegal drugs, Crime, PDEA-DOJ bribery issue

MANILA, Philippines--Marine Major Ferdinand Marcelino, the official of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) who blew the whistle on the alleged bribery attempt involving the drug case against the so-called “Alabang Boys,” feels vindicated now that the three high-profile suspects are facing charges before the courts.

“We’re glad that our justice [system] is finally working. Yun naman yung sinasabi namin (That's what we've neem saying) ever since--that they really have to face the court para mailabas yung ebidensiya (so the evidence will come out),” Marcelino said in an interview.

One of the three suspects in the controversial drug case, Joseph Ramirez Tecson, has been transferred to the Quezon City jail on Monday after pleading not guilty to charges of possession of illegal drugs and drug peddling.

Tecson will remain detained in the city jail as no bail has been recommended for his temporary release.

Meanwhile, the two other suspects, Richard Brodette and Jorge Joseph, are expected to be transferred to a Muntinlupa City Jail soon after formal charges are filed against the two, including an urgent motion for their transfer to the local jail.

Marcelino said the transfer of the three to city jails will allow them to feel “remorse.”

“Kasi hindi pa nila nararamdaman (Because they have not felt) how it is being in jail. Kaya yun yung sinabi ko na parang hindi namin nakita sa kanila ang remorse (That's what I've been saying--we've not seen remorse from them). They really believe na kayang-kaya nila takbuhan yung batas but now makakatikim na sila kung ano talaga ang jail (they'd be able to run away from the law, but they will now experience jail). We hope somehow ma-realize nila na nobody is above the law,” he added.
Sana tuluyan na makulong...Sa tingin niyo pag nagkataon, hiwalay ba sila ng mga selda sa ibang bilanggo? o halo halo na sila sa selda?

Im sure kukuha ng "apartment" yan sa kulungan. baka nga "vip suite" pa e. un ang racket sa loob. the amount you pay as "rent" determines the room you get.
