Navy agents linked to subdivision deaths

MANILA, Philippines—Intelligence agents of the Navy are to blame for the deaths of a seaman and his 8-year-old daughter in the fierce shooting in Parañaque City early this month, police sources told the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

According to three senior police officers familiar with the shooting and the ensuing investigation, heavily armed men belonging to the Naval Intelligence and Security Forces (NISF) were in the United Parañaque Subdivision four hours before the purported gun battle between policemen and suspected robbers on the night of Dec. 5.

One source said more than 10 NISF agents were positioned only a few meters away from where Alfonso de Vera, 58, and his daughter Lia Allana (not Leah Alyanna, as earlier reported) were shot dead on board their vehicle.

The source said the Navy men had been deployed in the area along with members of the Special Action Forces (SAF), an elite anti-insurgency unit of the Philippine National Police.

“Our initial appreciation of the evidence and statements of our men showed that the victims were inadvertently shot at by NISF agents,” the source said.

Asked who had tapped the NISF agents and what they were doing in a police operation, the sources said these questions were raised at the onset of their inquiry into the shooting that left 16 people dead.

They said the investigators were surprised to discover that military men were involved in what was supposed to be a police operation.

the only way to know who shot who is thru ballistics matching.. pero dapat independent agency like NBI ang magconduct para maiwasan ang white wash...or CHR may ask help from US counterparts... pero this will be a tidy procedure..

according to some,, if you're caught inside the crime scene and you're on board a vehicle, stop immediately and turn on all your lights as well as the hazards lights and dock in and never get out of your vehicle, wait for police to approach your vehicle.

I know this family . They live near our house. When my grandmother died, nakiramay pa sila sa aming pamilya. Tahimik itong pamilya ito at mapalakaibigan. Kaya it sadden the whole neighborhood nung nangyari ito.

That day it happened I was on my way home, pero na traffic ako kaya late na ako nakauwi sa amin, kung hindi ako na traffic siguro napatay din ako , kasi that time is when I usually get home. Trigger happy yung mga pulis na iyoon , kala mo nasa pelikula ni FPJ, At saka hindi ka naman makatakbo ng mabilis sa main road na iyoon dahil may humps, at saka ang daming trucks nanasa road side.kaya mabagal ka kapag palabas, kaya hindi mo talaga maintidihan kung bakit nila binaril yung Van ng magama, makikita mo naman sa windshield yung laman kahit madilim na kapag inilawan mo ng headlight.

Kung ikaw ba naman yung criminal at hinahabol ka mamaril ka ba ng civilian, ang main concern mo ay makanap ng mapagtataguan o kaya ng mapaglalabasan ng kalsada at makatakas. Umaga na ako nakauwi sa amin kasi sinarado nila yung service road, nakita ko panga yung mga vehicles na may tama ng bala, mga katawan ng mga criminal at ni Mr. Deveyra at mga weapons na nakuha nila. Daming media at mga usisero.

Nakita ko kahapon si Arnold Clavio at news team ng GMA 7 sa lugar namin, sana yuon ang topic niya sa show niya.
Sana mabuhay muli ang Topic na ito, hangang ngayon kasi wala pa ring nangyayari, besides na napromote pa yung mga walanghiyang pulis na iyon, at may napatay nanaman. Kawawa naman yung maybahay ni Mr. Deveyra, nagiisa na lang sa buhay. Kung ako siya sinampal sa a niya si General Versosa, nung humingi ng apology sa kanya sa TV, yung mga pera na dinala nila sa Russia kasama asawa niya, hindi pa rin nareresolve.

I have a sad feeling na walang mapaparusahan dito, just like all the other well known cases, si Teehankee nga nakawala na, dapat yun walang pardon, pinatay niya yoong mga bata, napagkatuwaan lang niya.
