tingin ko air brakes pa ang gamit nitong truck (yung mga de-bomba). naalala ko tuloy yung owner namin dati mga 3 times nawalan ng preno pero dahil sanay na ang dad ko sa ganun, mabagal lang patakbuhin at engine braking then off engine habang kambyo solb.

dapat talaga sa truck ipinasok kaagad sa first gear para todo ang engine braking kaso sa tingin ko nag-panic na ang driver dahil masyadong mabilis ang arrival niya.

Baka po sa sobrang bilis niya hindi pumasok sa 1st gear, ganon po yun di ba? Ewan ko lang po sa iba, kasi yung amin pag mabilis ka tapos gusto mo ipasok sa mas mababang gear na wala ka sa tamang speed po pumapasok, ewan ko lang po sa ibang sasakyan, ganun kasi sa dalawang sasakyan namin eh.

Ang fault niyan sa company din kasi maintenance palang TINITIPID. kaya ang naiipit drivers, AFAIK dahan dahan yan kasi kahit papaano loaded siya, yun nga lang wala sa timing yung brake (w/c is brake failure na din) poor driver, sorry for the victims.

Should be a very expensive lesson for the truck company. I hope they learn and realize thats its cheaper to maintain their trucks, and get reliable drivers than paying for accidents.

If the driver drives consistently fast and has to brake hard whenever he gets to congestion, he can quite quickly overheat the brakes and cause brake failure.

Truck brakes work best when they're cool. After the first heavy stop, the truck will take a few meters more to stop. After the second... a few more... pretty soon, the truck will hardly stop at all...

Sir niky this is very true, truck brakes undergo so much more stress than our car brakes this is called brake fade especially with constant hard braking which is regular driving habit here in the philippines.This is the same for jeeps and elfs..The brakes become so hot that they become hard to apply, hard pedal..For those who have driven an elf or passenger jeep when loaded even with just passengers its preatty hard to stop abruptly when going at highway speeds. As for the driver and pahinante sometimes when there are accidents especially if alot of damage has been done or death some people have a bad habit and take the law into there own hands by beating up the driver.

If it's a leak, on rubber lines, it's slow, and checking the fluid reservoir every trip should be enough. Also, you'll notice the pedal getting softer and softer and softer...

All truck drivers should drive slowly when they are fully loaded. Not like they are driving 20-ton Ferraris.

Well lets just hope these drivers realize it.
