 mbt, are you a glass-half-empty or a glass-half-full kinda guy?

The way I see it, cars are now safer, faster, more fuel efficient, more practical, (generally) better built, and (IMO) better looking than the cars of yesteryears. Oh, some people will always fall back on the age old adage "They don't make 'em like they used to!", but if you really look at it, the automobile of today has gotten so much better.

We also have so many choices in this day and age, so many makes and models to choose from. And the aftermarket industry is truly on the upswing. There are just so many choices and options open to us vs. our fathers or our grandfathers. And the way I see it, the more choices there are, the better it is for us, the end consumer.

    e46boi,

hehe well, you are right... the car as we know it is at the pinnacle of its development. the cars of tomorrow will be powered by new-fangled technology, and the automobile would be finding its feet again, much like the early internal-combustion cars -- we may never see practical performance cars again, as we know it, for quite some time until new engine technology (like the electric, fuel cell, and hybrid systems) matures to the level of development the ICE has reached now.

but then again, development is always relative... we look back at the cars of yesteryear with the technology of today in mind, yet the people of yesteryear were satisfied and amazed at their level of technology then

and then again, traffic, potholes, gas prices, taxes, thieves, and the dearth of parking spaces spoil the fun and the Golden Age in our country hahaha
