Good point. I think they feel that tapping the Philippine dealers would accelerate their growth in the local market, considering the said dealers' experience and knowledge. For example, I think mitsubishi just got dealerships for ssangyong, hyundai and suzuki. In the same way, I think skoda wants to take advantage of the existing machineries in local dealerships. But this is indeed good news. We're currently flooded with korean brands, not to say that they aren't any good, but european brands would do us good too, if they can make it affordable here.

This is certainly great news for the local market. I hope that they bring in the Fabia (compact car) which can certainly compete directly with the Swift and Yaris. Their top end sedan, the Superb, is also a headturner.

I'm just wondering why they have to tie-up with the local japanese brands when they are actually a very good company in Europe which is also very active in the rally scene.
