Pards, emissions ang problema ng US versions. Kahit Euro, emissions ang nagpapabagal ng sasakyan.

Yung hatch na yon, ano ba meron noon, SiR or Si? My friend has a true Si/SiR (di ko maalala which one) hatch.

hhmmm... Sa US lang naman sila strict pagdating sa emmissions eh, hindi sa europe... for example, yung mga Euro E36 M3's push 321hp, pero nung i-import nila sa US yung the same car, naiba yung mga specs and everything that it only pushed 240hp, that's so much weaker than the Euro version...

The first E36 M3 to be imported to the United States was the 1995 model, which received a 3.0 L engine with 240 hp (176 kW) and 305 N•m (225 ft·lbf) (S50B30US) and a different suspension. The reasons for the less powerful motor were largely due to excessive costs for the US market with the original engine and possible difficulty in getting the Euro engine to pass emission tests.

I meant if it's a European make (MB, BMW, Audi, etc) basta US version, it has a lot of emission requirements that rob it of power.

It's the cat converter that's robbing the power.

In the US, it's usually emissions tuning and a more restrictive catalytic converter that robs them of power. It's not to say the Europe doesn't care about emissions, but their regulations regarding certain emissions aren't as strict as in the US.

Hence, Audi's engines are lean-burn in Europe, but not in the US.

*emongedmund: Set aside at least 100,000 pesos and do it right. The engine costs around 65k, but you'll need a fuel tank (since you only have a carb'd d15, your fuel pump might not be strong enough) and you should probably get a 4-disc brake conversion to go along with the engine, too.

Budget around 120k, total, I guess... get better tires and springs while you're at it.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

It's actually the ENTIRE engine that robs power... all the engine components even the IM's and header/s' spec are different.

noon type ko rin mag set up ng hatch w/ b series engine.kaya lang noong ma compute yung range price lumalabas na ka price na nya ang 2nd hand honda SiR.so i change my plan na bibili na lang ako ng stock na SiR kung may makuha pang stock.

dito ako nagka interest noon to modify a stock hatchback:
