I remember the L-type. It was a bit cramped inside, but it had a nice ride and the engine, 'Neptune', ran very smooth and was a high revver, inspite of its OHV configuration. The same engine was used in the Cimarron One-Tonner, if anybody here remembers it.

The Box-type started using the more powerful and sophisticated 'Saturn' which had OHC, but was noisier and less smooth than its predecessor, the Neptune.

Lancer Boxtype GT (which we still keep).

By the way, we are selling our Galant Lambda. 1st owner, needs ground up resotoration but good as a donor car, still have most of the trimmings and parts, especially that elusive reare window.

Meron na ba website ngayon for oldschool cars in the ph.

yes celeste, had one it has the saturn engine handling is very good quite fast as well and not much of a gas guzzler, yes space is quite cramped at par with the 2dr L-type.

2nd my current corona silver ed., spacious, comfortable ride great engine although a bit on the gas guzzler side since 18r-u but it matches the weight of the car since its heavy then di pa power steering kya tamang work out na din specially when parking it.

3rd, obviously Lancer Boxtype since timeless din sya dami mods up until now fuel efficient same power as the suturn and Corolla ke70 or the liftback,
efficient din since 4k engine and gives you that initial d feeling since almost the same sila ng ae86 so ala takumi ka padrift-drift lang hehehe

I hate the Cimarron. Hate it with the hate of a thousand suns. It was the only car worse than a Ford Fiero. Ugh. Agh. Eek.

Loved the L-Type. Pretty nice car, especially after you swap in a Saturn.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

For me the best all rounder old school is the Classic Mini/ Mini Clubman,
1.) Size is very compact for you to keep in your garage.
2.) Trimmings are still in production that you can order thru the net.
3.) A "smile car" which guarantee people look at.
4.) Hop up kits and (Honda) engine conversion is ok.
5.) Parking is not a problem.
In short ito talaga ang "LARUAN".

    Compare to:
a.) Lancer L type to Boxtype the problem with this is the trimmings. after market parts . ( tail lights, and other lenses, Dashboard)

b.) Corolla Sprinter was ok, but make sure you get one with complete trimmings.
c.) Corolla box type Ok for drift look.
