Naku po!! Remember ko tuloy yung 1978 Toyota Corona ko na 2.0 ang makina. Yup, the macho machine kung tawagin and of course two-door hard-top Corona. Naks, passed down to me from my father pa. Pero ok na rin. Always sinasabi ng Daddy ko na first batch ng Toyota Corona na everything is made in Japan(I am not sure how accurate this claim was). Drove it my entire college years! Walang tatalo noon sa karera!! Napakabilis naman talaga ng acceleration at eye-catcher talaga(he he he..noong unang panahon yun!!! he he he!!)

Covered na lang all the time. Although ginagamit pa rin ngayon for short-distance errands. Mahirap na rin kasi i-maneho kasi hindi pa power steering. Nakakapagod!!

Recent models have rear drums because they could do very well with them. In the street you shouldn't really need the rear discs because you shouldn't be braking from 120KPH to 30KPH every 200 meters. Much of the braking is done by the front brakes anyway - which is why the front wheels are equipped with large, disc brakes. In most all-disc brake models (most notably entry-level sedans), the rear discs are actually very small and thin, with tiny ass calipers (compared to the front which have relatively larger, thicker, ventilated discs with big calipers). In fact these discs may even have less maximum braking power than the drum equipped models, but they are much more resistant to heat (and consequently much less prone to brake-fade).

I'm with those who suggested the 81-83 Corolla Liftback. Great-looking exterior, good-taste dash design, 5-speed, tail-sliding RWD configuration, and a reputation for reliability. Replace the engine with a 125 hp 2T-G and you've got a sleek-lookin', tire-smokin', pavement-driftin', street cruiser.

....UNLESS you got access to an LHD AE86 (Sprinter/Corolla).
