    Yep usually yan ang sira pero ang langis kung tumutulo eh mukhang malaking problema nga yan pero sir medyo di kasi advisable na ung year model ng lancer eh 1992 so 15 years on the road, tlagang maraming parts na dapat paayos..

    IF the oil is just leaking to the exterior of the engine, it's usually just a minor oil seal problem (e.g. valve cover gasket, crank/cam seal, etc.). This can be fixed quite easily and at a reasonable expense.

    However if the oil is being burned by the engine (seen as white smoke even when the engine is at operating temp) or is mixing with the coolant (open your rad cap), then you might require work of a more extensive scope.

    It's just a matter of looking at the glass as half empty or half full or so those old proverbs say. :D
