December 22nd, 2006 05:33 PM #102On first read, I also thought oldblue's post was somewhat offensive. But after reading it again, I realized he was just wondering out aloud without directly accusing anyone.
Given the well-known business acumen of not only local Chinese, but Chinese worldwide, his thoughts are not an uncommon reaction for those not privy to the Chinese way of both doing business and living thriftily.

konting delikadesa lang sa pagpost ng halfmeant or even 'joke-like' statements. if you knew how majority of filipino-chinese businessmen started from rags to riches, you would have enough respect for them to avoid posting such offending and nonsense statements.
as ILD said, konting isip bago magpost ng makaka-offend sa kapwa, ok lang sa amin na medyo di sensitive sa mga ganyan pero kung nakabasa nyan ay mabilis masaktan at maoffend e baka magkakagulo dito ng di oras.

sorry for the post. I wasn't clearly thinking at all. but I never meant to generalize all fil-chinese. I have a lot of 'em classmate and friends. sometimes we joke a lot 'bout that na para bang it's normal everyday comments . medyo na carried away lang po. again I'm very sorry.
I have edited the post.

What OB said was below the belt and totally uncalled for. Atleast in my POV.

maybe he posted that coz of experience and work environment.
dont get me wrong aminin man natin meron meron pa din gumagawa nun. fil-chi man or pure fil.
I dont defend pure filipinos but mostly fil-chinese do it kasi mas madami negosyante sa kanila kesa trabahador.
BTW: Im a FilChi
just my two cent. back to the topic

*ILD,
I understand where you are coming from and I admire you for the position you took because the world does need more people of your conviction. Trust me when I say that we had it worse before and I had had my share of violence because of racial discrimination.
But let me play the role of your Ah-pe (am assuming I am much older than you), and request you to be more tolerant. At my age, I have learned that you resolve matters like this with open dialogues.
Anywayz, OB has already apologized. So let's close the book on this one, okay? Besides OT na tayo.

i think there was no intention to attack anyone or any race in particular, otherwise, lahat ng pinoy dito eh dapat magalit din kay frent because of his post (i.e. pinoy style = tantamount to crab mentality).
but i sincerely opine that it's not the case here since oldblue simply addressed the post of frent with jest when he referred to fil-chinese style of rock-bottom pricing.
along with having delikadesa and avoiding to offend anyone, our fellow tsikoteers should likewise be more tolerant in interpreting the different posts here. besides, we are in a public forum and considering the diversity we have here, we can't afford to be overly sensitive lest the moderators will have a lot more censorship and/or peace-keeping chores to do.
and as architect as mentioned, oldblue already apologized so close book na po sana ito..
:peace:

:Off-Topic2: *architect: you seem to have what it takes to form or initiate a mastermind alliance. i.e. forming and harnessing a group of similarly minded yet uniquely talented people together towards the realization of a common goal..
your inputs to this thread very much display your apparent business savvy
This reminds me of Berocca
