Why are there so many categories?

Is it to please as much people as possible?

Coz you cant compare diff cars.

Problem is, even within the categories they set, you have cars that are not natural competitors.

The Carnival is not a natural competitor of the Innova/Fuzion/Sportivo set.

The Carens and Avanza are not natural competitors. The Carens is a natural competitor of the Innova (heck, lots of the new comparo questions here have been Carens vs. Innova...). The Avanza's only competitor is the APV.

The Carnival and Starex are direct competitors.

The Grand Vitara and CRV (both winners) are competitors.

But you really can't control everything... and some of the manufacturers didn't participate, so possible winners didn't join. And others sent base models so as to put them in a lower price class... guaranteeing them a win... ;)
