July 30th, 2003 05:04 AM #67Since you live in the states and base on your list, you have some cars that are priced well above $30,000 brand new.
Let's admit this. It's a stereotype to see pinoys in the US driving japanese cars so if you want to have that "attention getter"car, then go for european preferably german-made like the BMW or MB C class. Convertible? Why not, the better as long as you can afford it.
I drive a 1993 Mercedez 190E 2.6 and a freind of mine drives a late model (2002) Honda Accord V6 and we both drove to a restaurant to meet another friend of ours. When we met him at the parking lot, his first response was "wow pre, naka mercedez ka pala". German cars either old or new will always attract attention.
In August, i'm planning to buy a used 1998 or 1999 Porsche Boxster. The cost is around $28K - $30K. Yun ang dream car ko kase.

I bet you the owner would say "NEVER RACED"
the only mod that I think is worthy of it:
1. Supercharger
2. Injectors
3. Computer software (ECU reflash?!)
KBB's Private Party Value for that car (EXCELLENT CONDITION) is $17K. IMHO, I wont pay more than $20K. What about the MODS you asked. I say, "what about 'em?" Modded car tend to have a lower value than an OEM. I dont care about the MODS, I dont care about the SC and all other things you did to it, I just wont pay more than $20K. As a matter of fact, if I can afford a brand new M3, I wont even consider buying that used M3.
Well, this is just my POV.
Stereotype, specially when you drive a HONDA/Acura ;)
and yes I agree with FromDi about getting a german car like, BMW.Last edited by Karding; July 30th, 2003 at 05:19 AM.
personally, i'd think thrice, before buying that toyota brand new rack and pinion, to fix my 2003...
