May 24th, 2012 02:51 PM #22nice thread, I was also wondering the reason for this change. The compact sedan that I know whose hood could be seen is the Impreza and the Lancer. IMHO, a car who's hood could be seen is easier to drive wala nang tantsyahan.
Parang nahirapan akong paniwalaan na for pedestrian safety ang change, Hindi ba pag mas shorter ang hood ang tama ng pedestrian is sa windshield ng sasakyan? so mas fatal siya since hindi naman flexible ang windshield compared sa hood. Correct me if I'm wrong

Yan din ang reklamo ko whenever i drive yung FD nung friend ko, sabi ko ang hirap hindi ko kita yun harapan.
the funny part when i park facing the wall napakalayo ko pa pala, pero sa loob akala mo naka dikit ka na.
Pero sanayan lang nga din, still hindi ko sinusugal pag hindi ako sigurado mahirap na baka sumabit.

Shorter but taller kasi ang hood so ang tendency sa adult (victim) ay tatamaan ang upper leg and pag fold ng katawan tatama ang ulo (hopefully) sa hood. Daming factors of course. It would matter a great deal if the pedestrian gets hit at 10 or 50 kph.
Luxury brands are developing airbags for pedestrians.

Magkano lang naman yung sensor na may digits, yun na lang pakabit nyo sa harap. Although para sa kin safety na rin yun eh, mas mabuti na yung kulang sa tansa kaysa sa sobra.
