Mukhang walang lisensiya or walang papers yung scooter. So, umalis na ako.
Diyan naman sa market market, biglang may nag-counterflow na motorsiklo at sabay liko. Blag, sapul. Di naman makahirit kasi siya may kasalanan.

April 5th, 2005 09:29 AM #55I've hit at least twice people with my sidemirror, once I was going at about 50kph and hit the guy. He probably had a sore elbow for a couple of days, but it was his fault walking on the road despite the fact there being a sidewalk. Another time I hit a guy going about 30kph, and there was also a sidewalk...
But I have never hit anyone seriously, thankfully I never will.
Ah, I think once I may have hit someone while reversing! No injury. But I vaguely recall it. These things are better forgotten.
More space for happy thoughts!

Yes. Here's my experience on this topic:
When I was much younger in 1992, when I hit a drunk woman on my way home from work. I didn't know that the person was a woman until we brought her to the hospital, when one of the nurses said that she was a woman, not a man. I don't remember what I said when we rushed her in the ER. She was short, fat, squat and had really short hair and she was reeking of gin. She just popped out right behind a jeepney and crossed the road. I was driving my dad's company issued pickup. The woman literally bounced off the bullbar...I literally heard and felt the bullbar vibrate when she got hit...like a loud BOINGGGGG!!!! I kid you not folks. Before I hit the cow, I had a chance to honk her but then she just continued on. Boy, I felt like pissing on my pants back then. I was scared. She was thrown about 4 feet away. When I went out of the truck to pick her up, a man came over and helped me carry her into the pickup. We rushed her to the hospital which was just a minute away. When she was at the emergency room, the drunk was squirming and wanted to leave the hospital. Interns and nurses had to restrain her. They looked at her and they saw minor scratches on her elbows and her arms, like the ones you have when you trip on a concrete road, no visible or serious bleeding at all. But I requested that she be x-rayed to make sure. While all of that was happening, the man who helped me carry the woman introduced himself as a policeman. He was in plainclothes and it was his day off he told me that he was one of the passengers of the jeepney she rode on. He assured me that he had witnessed the whole incident and put the blame on the drunken lass. Fortunately, the police station was just a small block away from the hospital, so he got his colleagues and interviewed me in the ER on what happened. The plainclothes police told me that he would be a witness if ever a case would be filed. Meanwhile, the nurses wheeled the person to the x-ray room, still struggling to get free. She was as strong as an OX! 3 or so nurses and interns had to hold that person down on the stretcher. She was hollering and yelling that she wanted to go home. While I was being interviewed, I saw a glimpse of a person that passed along the corridor and 3 nurses in pursuit. One of them stopped and said " the patient ran away!" The two nurses just stopped short on the hospital entrance and let the person run away. The policemen went outside and asked the balut and cigarette vendors if they saw someone who just passed them by. Yes they said and they pointed the direction the drunkard took. The policemen did not bother to chase the woman (fat laggards!). I was still in the ER and these med folks made a joke out of the situation, they were all laughing and all, and when the policemen got back, they too jumped in on the funny situation. Funny I say because all of them were laughing except me, so my vote not to laugh was trampled on.
What happened while the patient was in transit to the x-ray room, one of the folks restraining the mastodon lost his grip and the dinosaur just bolted out and ran. In the end the police put the situation in the blotter and told me to return the next day at the police station in case someone came in and complained. I waited the whole day in that stinking station with no one showing up. They just then told me to keep tabs on any follow ups, but I didn't bother to. Well, no one complained so I guess, I was lucky. I paid the hospital some 400 bucks back then for all the trouble and all.
