Lemon talaga ang unang batch ng RAV 4 na CBU here noon,Anyway i still prefer CBU na galing Japan, hindi ko talaga gusto yung quality ng Toyotas sourced from Thailand(Camry at Yaris)...Pati Indonesia ganoon din...

Oooh... let me list the problems that plagued my Japan CBU vehicle...

    - aircon conked out just after 20K km... dirty air filter daw
    - engine died out on me and took the battery along with it due to a dirty throttle body... 30K km odometer
    - horns keep failing... the wirings are not sufficient... i had them changed
    - the left front & rear shocks failed
    - inherrent pull to the right
    - the vehicle's height is not level...
    - defect front disc brakes that ate away the brake pads in less than 25K km
    - rear transmission oil seal damage
    - rack & pinion damage that caused the ps fluid to leak
    - replacement of a bearing that required a tranny pulldown
    - squeaking of the clutch pedal
    - rattling of the tailgate (which I remedied by inserting a thin foam between the rear window & the plastic door moulding)
    - side garnish has a "leak" which traps water and lead to some very unsightly water marks
    tough luck,you got lemon.

Not really a lemon... the vehicle is still in one-piece and running (85K km already)... just being honest on what repairs were done on my vehicle.

That's why I am skeptical when someone says that all he ever does on his vehicle is to change its oil and that's it.

Just like in Japan, Pinoy assembly plant has also strict quality control but the only difference maye is the mentality.

Pinoy has "Pwede na yan" mentality.

    You gotta point.

Parang yung sinabi ni sir niky dati:

"As long as it has four wheels and it runs, puwedeng-pwede na iyon"

Definitely walang tulo sa windows and rattles BUT the 2.5 gen pajero has a defective right front wheel alignment na di ma correct ng casa so had to bring it to Sprinter ok na sya. Lesson - not all casa maintained cars are ok even PGA tampered with my cousins parts.

    That is the general notion....

They should be using the same equipment/platform.

So, it boils down to the material and the quality control......
