I did the exact opposite. Except for the pulling of trailer thingy.

Sudden acceleration, sudden braking, raced the engine, revs up to 7k, and tried its top speed at SCTEX.

Mas maganda na malaman ng maaga kung may masisira sa components ng car kesa sa matagal na at out of warranty.

Tried it for 4 vehicles already (different brands), no bad effects have been presented upto this day.

And most likely hinataw na rin yan ng delivery boys from planta/pier to the casa

On the day I got the car I redlined it a few times kung makatyempo ng maluwag na stretch. Brief bursts makaabot lang sa 6k rpm. Drove normally after that.

I read in some articles stating that breaking-in is the thing of the past. Modern cars need not break-in. Parang myth na lang daw ito.

it may be interesting to you you guys about "synthetic oil life study"
    Synthetic Oil Life Study
...We are working on a hypothesis: that the true break-in of an engine is at least 20,000 miles, and that, perhaps, during the first year of an engine's use it would be wise to change more frequently, and only start moving toward extended oil changes once the engine is older...
kaya 20k miles or 32k (km), may nakukuha pa din engine wear (metals) as manifested through their flushing.

I've always followed the old-skool break in method of not going beyond 100kph or throttling to more than 3000 rpm for the first 1k on all the diesel cars ive owned. Although it has the usual 3 yrs or 100km warranty, i avoid the hassle of claiming warranty if in case it broke during the warranty period.

Sir good info.nagtalo kami ng utol ko tungkol sa break in..

Sabi niya old school daw yung di ka lalagpas sa 50 kph during the first 1000 km? Naisip ko nman, edi palagi akong late sa work pag ganun kabagal. Then pinapaandar daw stationary magdamag ang engine? Anong katotohanan tungkol sa break in?

Two days after ilabas ng casa auto ko, hinataw ko na sa nlex at sctex. Speeds varying 80, 100, 120 kph. Minsan 140 kph pa pero seconds lang. Yung iba alam ko nag 160 kph pa sila.

Just dont exceed 4k rpm, no sudden stops and hard acceleration, and it will be fine

IMO it's best to follow the car manual's suggestions.
