Well since the Ford Focus is a rebadged Mazda 3, its already there.

Actually, they are totally different inside and out (physical) - they may share some parts but they are two very different and distinctive models.

I think you are just talking about your side of this world. The US has hundreds of different models, trims and brands to choose from. Majority of people here buy their vehicles based on their needs. People here buy trucks not because F150s, F250s, F350s are cool, but because they need to carry stuffs everyday to work. People who drive SUVs usually are tall and has kids in their teens but dont want to drive a van. People who drive vans are usually those who have small kids. People who drive smalls cars (civics, crapollas, etc) are those who drive daily but who doesnt wanna spend much on gas.
