What size would fit on a 2002 Camry?

Using the tire size calculator, the matching tire for the stock 205/65R15 is the 215/50R17. My friend's quite hesitant with that size, though, coz it might look small on the car, so he's also been thinking about the 225/50R17.

    Any inputs?

    Thanks.

If the 225's will fit in the Camry, i'd get that over the 215's.

go 225s. baka nga pwedeng 235/45/17 ka eh.. this size fits on the evo7, so it should be no problem with the bigger camry.

thanks guys! makakarating ang choices nyo!

    splerdu,
my friend prefers a little more sidewall which is why he's looking into 50-series tires.

    AC,
5Zigen 5ZR ba? will tell him to take a look at them. So far, his choices are 17" 5Zigen M-05 or Tom's Violent. Mga P45K yung 5Zigen, at P33K yung Tom's. Ganda nga sana yung 18", big car naman. Thing is baka naman sumayad yung 18s sa fender kapag 5 ang sakay. Looks like parating full load ang biyahe ng Camry nya.

Adventure with 19" mags? Whew! Laki a!

    > 50-series tires

series is a function of the tread width. 50 means 50%, so yung 235/45 mas malaki pang sidewall nun kesa sa 205/50. kaya mapapansin mo bumababa yung profile habang lumalapad yung gulong.

porsche for instance, 285/45 series sa harap tapos 345/35 sa likod, pero halos pareho lang yung sidewall height.

    205/50 - 102.5mm sidewall
    215/50 - 107.5mm sidewall
    235/45 - 105.75mm sidewall

I have the same stock tire size as you do and I'm using 225/50VR17 right now. The 225 will definitely look better than 215 not because of the profile but because of how its going to sit in your fender well. The wider and bigger overall size of the 225 will fill up the fender gap or at least minimize it. The 215 on the other hand, with its lower profile, is a better looking tire but will look small for the car (skateboard look). If your fender well can accomodate it 234/45VR17 will even look better. 18 in tires will look the best but will ride very rough especially with the roads over there.
