    guys im new here...

    meron ako ford lynx 2000 M/T may prob ako sakit sa ulo eh, need help

    nung una natrafic ako sa edsa then nung lumuwag na ang traffic edi medyo isteped on the gas
    then biglang parang nachocking or sinok sya at namamatay matay makina.. then it got worst at tumirik n ako..
    then after 5-15mins start ko sya, ok na sya then kinabukasan pinalitan ko sparkplugs ko at air filter.
    but after that mas lumabas na ung sakit nya, maybe because bago na ung sparkplug so it needs more air or something
    every gear after bitaw ng clutch bigla na lang sya kumakadyot or choking it seems like nawawalan ng power.
    pero na drive ko sya from mandaluyong to quezon city naka 2nd gear lang ako tapos maintain ko ng 2000 rpm along edsa midnight hindi na sya sinumpong kasi natatakot ako mag change gear baka matirikan nanaman ako.

    anyway pinasok ko sa talyer.. ginawa nila check nila ung gas tank ko, pina drain ko kasi marumi na ung tank.. and pinacheck ko ung fuel pump..
    ung fuel pump nakalagay sa fuel float nandun na rin ung para sa guage nya at strainer. - btw wala bang fuel filter ang ford lynx? and ok naman ung fuel pump ko.

    then test drive ganun pa rin... parang na choke sya. ung choking nya is hapening after bitawan ang clutch 900-2000 rpm pero pag naka birit na at humahataw na hindi na nagchochoke. ginawa nila nilinisan ung MAF sensor, then naging ok na. stable na sya. pero 1day lang.. after that nung ginamit ko kinabukasan.. pag kakagamit lang madalas na chochoke sya at minsan pag nakastop ako bigla na lang namamatay ung makina. tapos after ko magamit ng magamit, magiging madalang na lang ung choking minsan wala na. parang sumpong na lang sa umpisa lang meron... tapos may araw na wala, tapos may araw na meron. hindi ko alam kung anong prob eh.

    pwede kayang maf sensor ang prob kasi nilinisan lang? baka sira na talaga.. and need na palitan... wala akong alam na may obd2 scaner na pwede sa ford lynx may marerecomend ba kau na mura?

    btw nakapatay ung engine light ko nabasa ko sa ibang thread na sabi ni niky na laging sumasagot sa ford lynx probs ay walang check engine light ang ford lynx.. tapos napansin ko rin walang srs light dun sa gauges ko. so does it mean wlang srs at check engine light ang ford lynx ghia 2000?

    There's no check engine light, but you can still scan the Lynx for error codes.

    I'd take a look at your vacuum lines... might be one's cracked or loose... or comes loose when it gets hot. Also check the gaskets for the throttle and intake manifold... as these can sometimes crack... and when things get hot and the manifold expands, the crack opens up and lets air into the manifold, making the idle unstable. When the car cools down... it's okay again.

    before i replaced my sparkplugs and air filter hindi po stable ung idling nya at ung choking nya pag matagal ko na nagamit saka nag choking. may time pa na ayaw magstart pag start ko namamatay agad ung engine. pero after po mareplace ung dalawa ung choking nya madalas na then ung idling nya stable na. hindi na sya pagalaw galaw.

    tapos after malinis ung MAF sensor ko tuwing umpisa na lang ung choking or pag nakapark ako na naka on ang engine saka namamatay na lang bigla pero after ng mga 15mins-20mins of driving parang hindi na sya nagchoking / sinok kahit ma trafic pa ako sa edsa.

    base sa nabasa ko pag sa A/T ngyari yan talagang mamatay ung engine at need pa start. tapos pag saming M/T ngyari kumakadyot sya kaya hindi na natutuloy ung pag engine off kasi parang nag jumpstart sya.

    anyway pag nag choking sya at "kumadyot na" tinatapakan ko ung clutch para hindi tumuloy.

    btw bago rin ung clutch disc ko at ok pa ung presure plate and release bearing ko, ganda nga ng hatak kaso biglang kumakadyot sa umpisa pero pag naka birit na ok na parang bago.

    sapalagay mo MAF kaya iyon? hindi nalubog sa baha ung car ko, 2005 ko sya nabili at hindi rin sya masyadong naggamit now lang lumabas ung ganung prob eversince nabili ko yung car.

    pwede malaman magkano magpa obd2 scan sa speedlab? pa pm po thanks,

    If it runs fine otherwise, I doubt it's the MAF.

    Speedlab has a scanner that can do Lynx codes. Our cars are not OBDII, they're OBDI.

    update lang po sa story ng car ko... nung hinahanap ung sinok nung car ko ginawa na ay check the fuel float = consist of fuel pump, fuel filter and strainer i think.. ) and the fuel lines and hoses nilinis at check walang crack or leak then they cleaned my fuel tank, drained it. they cleaned the sensors MAF and CAMshaft using contact cleaner. ok naman sya wala dun ang prob because nandun pa rin ung sinok or choking or kadyot..

    anyway i did some research then i found out about a shop specialized in ford lynx in makati (SMT) they scan my car using the obd1 scanner tapos walang nakitang prob kasi hindi pa talaga bumigay ang sensor ifever dun ang prob. at masaya ako because they cleaned and adjusted my crank shaft sensor and they replace my sparkplugs because hotplugs daw un at mali sya. then nawala na ung jerking or sinok or kadyot na malakas kahit mga 60kph na ako. and im happy with that.

    pero ito na ang sumunod.. pag na traffic ako lets say from mandaluyong boni.. then trafic agad pag labas ko edsa pag dating dun sa santolan tumitirik ako or viseversa from kamuning to mandaluyong pag natrafic tumitirik pa rin or kahit saan basta matraffic tumitirik pa rin basta mainit na ang makina and it havent changed pag start ko at rev after ng tirik palyado pa rin. then im convinced na crankshaft ang prob.

    hindi ko muna pinalitan ang crankshaft sensor because hindi ko ginagamit ung car sa traffic or tuwing rushhour and sa malalapit ko lang sya ginagamit hindi ko sya ginamit sa longdriving etc... so ok lang so recently ived decided to change my crankshaft pero the prob still remains,.. medyo may improvement na ng onti medyo tumagal na sya bago tumirik or psychological ko lang un kasi simulate ko lang trafic i just drove around then i park it in our house then leave the car on then after 30-40 mins i guess, the engine shutdown/dies then when i start it palyado na sya ulit. then after 10mins na nakapagpahinga ung car start ko then drive ko ulit sya ok na sya ulit wala ng prob..

    anysuggestion kung ano next na papalitan ko? by theway ang pinalitan ko lang ay ang crankshaft sensor sa ilalim ng engine near the alternator i guess. i havent change my coil on plug ignition/ ignition coil yet. and my camshaft sensor.. at pag tumitirik ako sobrang init ng engine bay ko i dont know kung ignition coil un or dapat bang palitan ko ung camshaft rin... sana guys makahelp kau baka may member tau na same ang problem sana makatulong.. thanks

    The two most common sensor/electrical problems are camshaft position and ignition coil. They're about the only things left that can explain your problem.

    thank you niky... maybe ill try to change my ignition coil first. ill update ifever my problem is solved

    update.. after i replaced the crankshaft sensor.. the prob still remains. then i replaced the ignition coil the prob still remains then i removed the maf sensor the prob still remains

    then i replaced the camshaft sensor. prob solved

    hi there, curious lang ako dun sa shop. kung talaga expert sila alam na dapat nila na sakit ng ford lynx yung cam shaft sensor. I experienced same problem, dinala ko sa ford alabang yung car. mabait yung service advisor kc sinabi na nya sa akin yung papalitan at di na nya pinapa-admit yung car. suggest pa sya ng shop kung saan bibili ng sensor. mazford banawe.

    so far, after changing the sensor, di na ako tumirik kahit straight drive to baguio...

    Typically... that's the first one you should replace. Oh well... at least you won't have to worry about the rest of the sensors for the next few years.
