ford mondeo

Hi All!

Any background on the Ford Mondeo? Mukhang Lynx eh....heard it's been getting lots of awards sa UK.

It's a mid-size sedan by the Ford European division. Aimed at the Toyota Carina and other Euro mid-size sedans (parang 2.0L class sa atin).

Made it to the US back in '97 (?) as the Ford Contour and Mercury Mystique.

Generally boring daw except for the top line models.

how would it fare against our local midsize cars like the accord, cefiro and camry? our midsize cars are all wonderful their own way, IMO.

Hindi ba yung Mondeo at Jaguar X-type ay nag-share ng platform at components?

Kaya AWD ang X-type kasi front wheel drive or AWD lang ang pwede dun sa platform.

Pwede ba namang magkaron ng FWD na Jaguar? hehehe. Kaya ginawang AWD.

i rented the us version a lot (contour) during business trips - i think the accord and camry are still way ahead of it. it handles a lot better than the other two, but the japanese cars beat it on reliability, feeling of quality and styling imo, especially on the interior.

i'm sure it will sell decently there given the success of the ford brand in general - plus, you know the pinoy - we want anything new and different.
