October 27th, 2010 12:27 AM #142been on ghost mode for awhile due to the toxic schedule with no time to post. pero im ranting 2 days ago because my ford focus tdci's battery got discharged last Saturday. still dunno what caused it but the reason im ranting is because when i called ford q ave to ask if they could check on my car, they were asking for a 1.5k diagnostic fee. i said wtf! considering i work at walking distance from their dealership being a surgery resident in udmc. to think that the reason why i get my car serviced there due to proximity purposes, i thought they would be nice enough to give me a helping a hand. i understand protocol that they need to fill up a referral or request slip but to charge me 1.5k is way too much. buti na lang, the nearby talyer had a cable na pang-series and got my car to start in no time. total cost 200 pesos. was so pissed at ford that i gave the guy a 100 peso tip aside from the talyer charge for service. goodbye ford q ave and good riddance. time to find another dealership.

November 3rd, 2010 04:15 AM #144My sister (through her bf) bought a Ford Focus Ghia 2005 1.8L A/T last Oct for our family car.
Recent problems:
-Malalim ung brake (pinagawa sa casa sabi palit daw hydrovac). Besides sa re-adjustment dahil umiinit masyado ung mags ok naman siya.
-Power steering failure (same casa module daw palit), umabot sa 50k gastos. Pero comparing now at before parang medyo matigas nga ung dati, ngayon sobrang lambot na kahit naka full stop.
Questions:
-Reasons kung bakit nasira ung specific parts?
-Justified kaya ung recommendation ng casa o pinipiga lang ung kita?

Since it's secondhand... very hard to say, since we don't know what the previous owner did to the car, whether they maintained it properly, whether it was flooded, etcetera.
The brake issue is not a big deal... brakes do wear down.
The power steering is a big deal... though I find it hard to believe that there would be issues with it unless there was some damage due to external factors.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

July 19th, 2011 12:38 AM #148question po
how would a focus be as a first car (thinking of buying 2nd hand 2005 model)?? I'm strongly considering factors like FC and maintenance in the long run
this is what I've heard of focus - while the car itself is beautifully made, hindi siya sirain AFAIK. FC daw is not that good and maintenance daw is on the pricey side (though if pricey siya tapos hindi naman sirain edi ok lng?)
I'm thinking ford focus or civic 2004, kasi price difference not that big
anybody can help? will surely appreciate it :D thanks

Whoa. This thread hasn't been touched in quite a while. Anyway guys, especially the ones with the TDCi PS, have you had any problems with your ECU's? Our Focus suddenly had all these warning lights show up recently, so pinaayos namin. Lumipas ang isang linggo at ayos uli siya. then just this morning, three weeks later, the same problem arose. I don't trust Ford when they say it's the first time they've encountered it. I trust my fellow tsikoteers more. :D thanks guys!
