December 7th, 2008 10:53 AM #1does the 2009 ford focus 1.8 a/t 5dr come with an alarm?
if yes, is it effective?
if no, can i ask the dealer to install one before i buy one?
when buying a car, i want the car to have a car alarm pre-installed.
sorry, newbie car-buyer here.

You should get the Focus TDCI version. It's more powerful and consumes a LOT less fuel too (eco driving im sure can get you 25-28km/L). Good for the environment.
Anyway, most new cars come with alarm pre-installed but verify to know. If it does not, yes, you can have it installed by the dealer.

December 23rd, 2008 08:22 PM #3the 2009 ford focus 1.8 a/t 5dr does not come with a car alarm.
i talked with a couple of dealers and they said that they CANNOT install an alarm on the 1.8 BUT we can have one install by an outside party. the problem is, the warranty will be void if anything goes wrong because of the installation procedures.
i'm more comfortable if my car does have an alarm so my question is: what's the possibility of something going wrong with installing an alarm outside of casa? what's a recommended alarm and where to install?
to other 1.8 a/t owners there, what did you do? left it as is and did not install an alarm anymore?
tia.
just seen a 10th gen cross 200,000 miles on reddit. is this a unicorn or has the cvt been proven...
