the xlt variant is not that thirsty compared to the lariat. in no traffic condition, you would cover enough miles just so that you dont push the pedal too strong. but if you are looking for power and speed go for the lariat. i get 5-6 km/liter when i still have my f150 with me...

6-7 kms/liter isn't bad ha...i get the same figures sa crv ko pag medjo gigil sa city driving. gusto ko din nun bumile ng f150...kya lang other priorities yun inuna ko hehehe.
may v6 ba na f150? diba puro v8 mga yun? yung v6 lumabas sa explorer old model diba? may thread akong nabasa dati at another forum that says yung consumption ng v8 is BETTER than that of v6s...v8s kasi have more torque, which means the car needs less throttle input to get going, hence the relatively more economical mpg figures.

April 20th, 2006 05:06 PM #118My F150 has a 4.2V6. It's a 4X2 model kasi. The 4x4 variant (Lariat) has a 4.6 V8 engine. I think for city driving mas matipid ang V8 dahil sa stop-and-go situation, an engine that has a bigger torque needs less effort to get it going. But in highway situation, palagay ko mas matipid ang V6

Automatic yun, bro? Ibig sabihin nun, if you're in D with your foot on the brake, the engine is pushing against the brake, and is actually using more gas and energy to stay at idle. The idle is lower because of the load on the engine. Better to put it into N for long stops, to save gas.
