Correction lang po, being a V8 4x2 does not lessen the fuel consumption compared to a V8 4x4. They have the same engine, hence fuel consumption will be the same based from the same driver and his driving technics.

    Ungas,

Correct me if I'm wrong, pero I heard somewhere na masmagaan yung 4x2 sa 4x4 kaya kahit papano masmatipid sya sa gas.

    pissword,

Ganyan talaga mag-depreciate yung Ford vehicles dito sa Pinas, kaya na-isipan ko na bumili nalang ng pre-owned Ford kaysa bumili ng brand new.

minimal lang ang tipid sa fuel consumption ng 4x2 over a 4x4 model with engines as big as what youre considering.

newbee::: Mas magaan nga ang 4x2, but not necessarily mas matipid sa gas consumption. Wasting fuel while in traffic is much more noticeable than fuel consumption based on vehicle's weight. Kung nasa ibang bansa pwede maging basis yan weight factor.

O nga pala, V6 nga pala Explorer, hehehe. Pardon my mistake.

    correction part2: 4.0L V6 po w/ 5speed A/T ang ST not 4.2L V6 (sa F150 4x2).

a friend bought a 32t km 2000 model 4x4 w/ moonroof, rear cargo and cover for P950T 3 or 4 mos. ago. so far he has spent nearly P50T on repairs (suspension, engine, etc). fuel consumption for mixed city/highway 4.7 to 5.4 km/liter. soon to be replaced: aircon evaporator (P25T + labor). weakness daw ito ng ST according to Ford service technician.

If you don't plan to haul anything in the bed might as well get an suv (lc 80, etc.). if you do plan to haul more than 500lbs regularly you'll have to install monroe air shocks (adjustable height and increased payload capacity) quality, driving feel not up to Japanese standards. ride quality is far from 4x4 F150 although a lot better than japanese pickups. cabin shakes and squeaks come from door gaskets. rear aircon marginal.

btw, it used to have 20" rims so they might have caused the premature suspension failure.

    good luck.
