i only have one thing to say about the expedition and also the F150. If you have to ask about the gas or the maintennance cost, then don't buy it na lang.
personally, i have had the f150 and it was great while it was a company car, but when it was transferred to my name at binigyan na lang ako ng car allowance, di talaga worth it.
parts are ridiculiously expensive and wear out easily if you go offroad. pikon na ako sa naririnig na idler arm na yan. ang brake pads 5,000 pesos per tire.
do yourself a favor and get a pajero (not the gen 3, i think it is just too much money) or any other japanese SUV.
of course, these are just my opinions, but since i drove the F150 for 3 years and maintained it for 1 year, i think i have a pretty solid basis for this assesment
luckytruck, when i planned to buy my expdtn last december2003, alam ko na b4hand ang lahat ng mga 'problema' sa kunsumo sa gas, brakedust, lsd, door rattles, continental tires, cheap-looking interior, high maintenance cost at kung anu-ano pang minor issues....and inspite of all those seemingly 'negative' features I DID BUY ONE, because i like FORD EXPEDITION more than any suv in the market, i love every square inch of it or every pound of its weight......... and i couldn't be happier!

March 16th, 2004 10:28 AM #245109, i agree with you 100%.
i just couldn't afford my F150 but i loved that truck. if you want lots of info on the expy, head over to the website i indicated www.ftwtrucks.com . ang daming members and they are very helpful. i was able to setup my truck both sa offroad and car audio sides with their help na wala nang trial and error.
if ford could just find a way to bring down the costs of the parts, i think a lot more people would buy their vehicles kasi ang gas expense naman, pwedeng iprogram sa weekly budget.

Same here. That's the reason why I waited this long for the truck and upto now wala pa rin bwahahhahah.
But at least I would be spare of the brakedust issue and NO LSD for me when my truck arrives.
My wife have thrown the two brochures (03 & 04) I got from LA late last year to the trash can in our bathroom for 3x already and each time I pick them back up. yun nagsawa na at hindi na tinapon uli. sabi nga sa akin baka daw kaya ko siya kalimutan pag dumating na yun truck ko.
I guess I just love the new expedition too much compare to any SUV I can see in the market.
I knew the implications of driving this truck and the running cost but still I'm happy to buy one.

Siguro pag marami na may expe at f150 dito marami na rin mag susupply ng parts out side the dealers.

I'll choose the rosewood or the dark burl kasi black yun sa akin.
Paano kaya kinakabit yan? stick-on lang kaya? would it peel off after a year or something like it.
Yun kit doesn't show the parts for the steering wheel.
Paano kaya kakabit yun sa steering wheel??????
Looks nice with the wood trim.

March 16th, 2004 06:06 PM #249actually, kung mayaman na ako, i will have a pajero/strada for my daily driver and an expy na 2nd hand, low mileage (sobrang mura na ang slightly used ngayon) for use once or twice a week lang. i have a friend who just bought a 4x4 expy na less than 30,000 kms, parang 900,000 lang ata. yung old body of course.
