i just read in the manual that the recommended ron is 87 and to specifically not use premium, is this applicable to the philippine setting?

    whats the octane of blaze?

87 probably refers to the "Anti Knock Index" or AKI which is the ratings used for fuels in U.S. and Canada. The AKI is the average of the Research Octane Number (RON) and Mean Octane Number (MON). We use the RON in the Philippines as well as in Europe.

MON can be around 10 points lower than the RON, consequently the AKI will be 4-5 points lower than the RON. 87 Octane in the US (AKI) is the equivalent of 91-93 Octane (RON) here in the Philippines.

Blaze has an RON of 96. Entry level unleaded gasoline (Petron Xtra, Shell Super Unleaded, Caltex Silver, etc.) here has an RON of 93, though most of them are now E10 blends.

Kaya ba sa mga gas stations and change oil and tune up ng first gen expeds? Ayaw ko kasi muna mag casa ngayon. Due for service din kasi yung ibang mga kotse ko dito kaya medyo tipid muna.

Just want to confirm if stencil the VIN number on the dash is enough for registration? no need to look for the number on the engine?

    Thanks.

Again I am not 100% sure.

Anyway, there is a shop which converts the air suspension system to coils. I had a 99 xlt expedition 4x4 a few years back.

I had it converted to ford oem coil springs at the back (replacing the air springs) and adjustable rancho shocks up front (to replace the air shocks).

Cost was 35,000php at autoteknika fairview.

Resulting ride was a bit stiffer, but not uncomfortable. But the suspension was more reliable. No more leaks, compressor problems, relay failure, etc., which was common in the air suspension.
Sir, the Php35k includes replacement materials and labor? Or did you buy the materials somewhere else? Would you still remember the autoteknika number? Reason for asking is that our co. exped's air suspension broke for the 3rd time and they're charging Php77k this time for replacement. Seems changing it to regular coil suspension will be cheaper and with less maintenance.

Yes, the 35 k covers two front shocks rancho 9000sx, two rear coil springs, and labor.

I had it converted at autoteknika fairview, do not know the number, maybe its there on the yellow pages or their website.
