    no need for break in. just dont stay in a gear/constant speed for a long time.

    Isn't this being too careful? If the Fiesta is using fully synthetic motor oil, then it is more likely that there is less friction and seating the piston rings against the cylinder walls will take a much longer time. But then again, these are modern engines which have been tested to run up to its red line even before the car is delivered. Newer engines have tighter tolerances...

    Proper break-in means being able to use the whole range eventually. That can be done by gradually increasing the load on the engine, or the speed of the engine.

    On modern break-in requirements.
    For some equipment, break-in is now done at the factory, obviating end-user break-in. This is advantageous for several reasons. It is a selling point with customers who don't want to have to worry about break-in and want full performance "right out of the box".
