I read an Australian motoring article (supposedly with insider info) that says the 3.0 diesel may find its way in the Ranger and Everest. This also means a V6 next gen Ranger Raptor. US version of the next gen Ranger Raptor will most likely get an EcoBoost V6 which is also available in the new Bronco.

The TOTL Bronco will be powered by a 2.7L V6 Ecoboost (similar engine as the lower trim Explorer and F150) paired with a 10-speed AT tranny. The base Bronco is powered by a 4-cylinder 2.3L Ecoboost engine with an option for a 7-speed MT or 10-speed AT.

The current Ranger in the US is powered by the same 2.3L Ecoboost engine which is also shared with the Focus RS and Mustang Ecoboost.

Looks like the Escape-based Bronco Sport is really worthy of the Bronco name.
