1.6 Ecoboost should be roughly the equivalent of a 2.5 liter engine in terms of power, while still giving similar economy to a 2.0. The 2.0 would be in the small V6 range in terms of power... basically the same motor as in the Explorer 2.0T... good match for the Forester XT, actually... at a lower price.
New Explorer V6 Ecoboost is interesting... ton of power... bit faster than an FXT in a straight line. Still a big, heavy car... but now it's a scary big heavy car.
At that price, it's a steal. Only other SUVs that powerful all cost at least a million or two more.Last edited by niky; October 27th, 2014 at 10:57 PM.

The 1.6 Ecoboost comes in 2 flavors - a 148 hp version and a 182 hp version.
I wonder which one we're getting.
