You can go for aftermarket rims, but I've never been a fan of rims that don't look OEM.

Very cheap at 1.1M though, but I'm really not a fan of its bare styling that looks just like a raised Focus.

And good luck selling it in the future. My officemate's trying to get rid of his 2013 Focus 1.6 sedan and noone's even interested. Buy-and-Sell guys are offering just 350k for it. What more this gas-guzzling CUV.

Still at 1.059m it's dirty cheap and you can afford to sell it later like so.

Plus it's not a focus plagued with tdci and dct issues before.

At this price range wala din other contenders.

If you buy an ASX, XV, or HRV, you could still sell it for several hundred thousand pesos more than an Escape after 5 years or so. Closest compact CUV would be the 1.2M RAV4 and 1.1M Tucson, also with way better resale.

Now if you really like the car, resale shouldn't be a problem. But if you're getting it because it's cheap, then compute for the costs of ownership and disposal as well. 1.1M with 400k resale value in 5 years means you spent 700k on it. A RAV4 worth 1.2M will still sell for 650-700k so you spend less on that. It would've been okay if the resale discrepancy wasn't much, but low-volume Fords are really shunned in the used car market.

Also, most people don't even know about the DCT problem of the Focus. Only enthusiasts know that. What ordinary buyers know is that there have been very few Focuses sold locally, which means few shops outside the casa even carry parts for it, which means maintenance could be expensive in the long run. Ford dealerships also have a long-standing reputation of being expensive, which turns away many buyers.

But yeah sige push niyo pa 'tong Escape. Even at 1.1M it still won't outsell the Explorer that costs twice as much. [emoji28]

If you have the money to buy a Totl ppv-- add a little and you can get an explorer..
If you have that amount of money-- I'm sure Lalo ng may pang gas ka... Hindi naman masyado Malakas sa gas ️Ang explorer.. Spirited driving with lots of waiting time.. And mixed city and highway.. It average 4.5-4.8km/li-- ️️pero kung tipid driving 5.8-6.6km /liter same route...
Kung may pang bile ka ng TOTL na ppv I'm sure Meron ka din pang gas-- pang e explorer

The buyers of the first expedition are now the buyers of the current Explorer. Its the same recipe of massive size at a massive value but now with (slightly) better fuel economy. It's still a defacto choice of the residents of gated communities.

The Escape has many more rivals now. The price range (originally) had it up against the Everest and Fortuner. In its segment its against the CRV, Forester, Rav4 and Tucson. There isnt a solid market for it anymore.

Whereas the Ecosport only has the Juke as a rival.

if im in the market for hrv or xv, id choose this. fords are inexpensive to maintain after warranty. yes they have low resale value pero all cars now will have low resale value coz flooded na tayo ng new cars. i doubt if Toyota or Honda would be exempt

pero cuvs in general are just down. i dont think it will ever recover here in the Philippines as they are the same price as the PPVs. so malamang ubos inventory na si Ford for the escapes

the ecosport however is another story. even with the juke, i doubt if the juke can beat that segment.

wala eh. walang manufscturer na nakatapat sa size na yun and they will continue to reign all cuvs

The Escape Ecoboost comes with the SelectShift 6AT tranny, the same as the new Focus Ecoboost. Ford also uses 6AT for the Fusion, Edge, Explorer, and Expedition. Only the new F150 uses the 10AT tranny.

The dry-type DCT used in the Fiesta, Ecosport, and previous-gen Focus is only rated at 200Nm and not applicable to the bigger displacement Ecoboost engines. The older Focus TDCi used a wet-type DCT to match the 340Nm torque output of its engine.

So wala po bumili ng Ford Escape kahit mura discount?

Sayang ... I was waiting for a hands on review from an owner.

Read about suspension problem at early owners (less than a year of ownership about 8000 kms on the odometer) from the US:
