Pano kyo nagkaroon bigay ng parents o sariling sikap.

Kasi sa panahon ngayon ang hirap na magkaron ng house and lot karamihan nasa condo na lng.

Magkano rin ang nagastos nyo para dito?

First house and lot, in the 90s, just before wifey and myself got married. Cost was about P2M then, IIRC. Bought the lot and built a house on it. Sariling sikap ko... After getting married, we stayed in my parents' place for a couple of weeks (honeymoon stage pa), while the final touches were being done on the house.

Then, a few years ago, as our family was growing, we moved to a bigger place within the same town. Same thing, bought the lot and built a house on it. Sariling sikap namin....

One of my siblings and her family are now staying in our old house and is paying us, through monthly installments,- walang tubo....

Well I have bought several pieces of empty land (no house) just for investment, wala akong house and lot kasi nakikitira parin ako sa parents ko and even if I get married it will stay that way. Chinese tradition being the eldest son...

    ok nga yan eh

no pay rent, libre electricity and water

pati food libre (eat with parents)

pati household help libre (parents bayad sweldo)

that frees up a big part of your income to be used for other stuff

25 years old, before getting married, equity was half-half. half from us and half from parents. loaned it sa bank. 2 years to go and tapos na bayaran.

umabot ng 8M nagastos pagtayo and it took 1.5 years to finish.

    Correct!

However, when they retire I will have to pay for everything na. So there goes the savings when they were active!

ok nga yan, pero how about your future wife? would she agree sa ganyan set up?

there's only one queen sa bahay. and as long as the mother in law is living there, walang power ang "sim-pu".

we have considered doing that arrangement but at the end of the day we've decided it's better to move out once you get married.

there will always be tension between your mother and wife.

Well hoping for the best regarding the mom and the wife...

At the end of the day I am still responsible for my parents so living in would make the job easier...
