changing oil is cheaper than having to suffer from sludges and may need overhaul.
been there.... done that.....

Yun na nga may catch phrase na "whichever comes first". Baka kasi marketing strategy na lang din ito ng mga car brands para mas kumita yung mga casa nila. Ideally, dapat nga siguro palitan ng oil within 5,000 or 3 mos. Pero practical na din ba na palitan na din agad? Natanong lang po.

Question lang po. Do I really need to change oil kahit wala pa sa km interval nya? Let's say na 3 mos na yung oil, good for 5,000 kms pero nasa mga 2,500 kms pa lang siya. Mas maganda ba magpalit na lang din ng oil? TIA

changing oil can never be too often.
personally, i change my oil every 5000 km, regardless of how many months it may take.
some say i'm pressing my luck..
but i've been doing this for decades now, with no ill effects.. so i must be lucky.

depende yan bro.
kung 3000 kms pa lang and dalawang bwan pa lang, sayang.
pero kung 4500 kms na, pwede na yan.

use judgement ika nga. one gallon of oil + an oil filter would cost you less than 2000 pesos.

now if you are using a full synthetic oil, pwede yan maski lumampas ng let's say 7500 - 8000 kms.... or let's say, 6-7 months, para isulit mo naman yung cost nung synthetic oil.

pero ako personally, i usually change at around 4800 kms, since nararating ko naman yun at 3 months eh. using a semi-synthetic oil.

Same here. I once asked an SA what will happen if my engine oil is still good for 2000 kms but I do not change oil on the fourth month ... ahora mismo MAPAPANIS yung oil?

Some say one year for synthetics is already pushing it as condensation and contamination have taken its toll on the oil. I imagine it is shorter for dino oil.

i go up to 10,000km intervals (or 6months whichever comes first)

100% honda-branded dino juice

lookit the springs, the timing chain and gear..
i think the valve rockers and head are bright, because the metal used has a lighter color..
i have seen mine.. the dry, un-oiled metal is darker than what we see here..

If you have the vehicle owner's manual, just follow the factory recommended oil change and filter change intervals. Be sure to use the correct oil grade for your engine.

im no honda fan nor affiliated with honda, but was able to use a honda before k20 engine and i'm a believer that only use Honda Fluids on honda cars!

thats why i like more my toyota 5k and 2nz-fe engine

the oil will not expire, the additives will due to exposure to combustion byproducts (dirt, acids, etc) + air/moisture
